* There is also something funny in how Jon and Dany become unofficially betrothed, unbeknownst to them and without their say. Whenever someone who didn't come back finds out about Jon's existence, they become concerned that there are effectively two Targaryan claimants to the Iron Throne and begin fearing a civil war between nephew and aunt, as Jon has a better claim to the throne, being male and the trueborn son of Rheagar, while Dany has a bigger army and had been determined to retake the Iron Throne before the Nightwalker invasion. Each time it's almost immediately dismissed as a non-issue by the time traveler doing the explaining, saying that Jon and Dany will solve the issue the Targaryan way. In other words, marriage. [[note]] Both Jon and Dany originally planned on making marriages to other people for the purpose of building alliances for the coming invasion, regardless of their feelings for each other.[[/note]]

* In the [[WordOfGod author's notes]], we're told that the inspiration for the story is wondering what would happen if Viserys found out about his death. And that everything spun from there. The result? Viserys essentially becoming Dany's version of Jamie in trying to be better, but having flaws to overcome.

Yet, funny enough, Viserys is among the few who doesn't Remember and essentially becoming becomes Dany's version of Jamie in trying to be better, better but having flaws to overcome.

** Robb comments after the fact that Ned was probably mad enough for 2 realms given his outburst, so he can't be angry after seeing his father like that.
* Qyburn was threatened by The Mountain to make him feel invulnerable like before. Instead, Qyburn turned the tables of Gregor, and [[OffWithHisHead beheaded him]].
* Jon tells some side stories about the little oddities that happened during the war. Including mentioning how Tywin took Arya as his cupbearer, and never even recognized her. That gave his traveling family a good laugh.

* The fact that Tywin, once TheDreaded is so irrelevant that not only does Jon only worry about him for the threat he may pose to Tyrion, but the only reason he remembers at all is that the nigh omnipotent Three Eyed Raven completely forgot about him.

* There is also something funny in how Jon and Dany become unofficially betrothed. Whenever someone out of the loop (and outside of the North) expresses concern that there are effectively two Targaryan claimants to the Iron Throne (fearing a civil war between nephew and aunt), the immediate answer is that Jon and Dany will solve the issue the Targaryan way. In their case, marriage.

** To offer more details, Dany summons Talisa hoping for information about Westeros, having had no contact since the Return. When she asks about the Starks Talisa, who assumes Dany sees House Stark as an enemy, delivers a defiant speech about how she will not betray Robb's family. Dany, who very much sees House Stark as her allies, responds by bursting out laughing before clearing up the misunderstanding.

* While they're watching the awkward reunion between Jon and Ygritte, Bran out of nowhere reassures Ned that it won't be like [[TheLostLenore what happened between him and Ashara Dayne]]. Cue Benjen teasing the suddenly blushing Ned, while Robb stares in disbelief.
** When Jon comes back over and is told what happened, he sighs and tells Robb that this is why they stopped talking to Bran -- they never know when he's going to blurt out someone's secrets.

* Despite the spell supposedly going off the rails due to the supercharge, there's something humorous that the extra hands who remember essentially staged 2 bloodless coups, ThePurge and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking removed Lysa from power]] within days. Essentially doing exactly what the spell did: supercharged their intentions.

* As part of Aemon helping to legitimize Jon, he gives him the ancestral blades Blackfyre and Darksister. Blackfyre is given to Jon as the King, since it's a powerful symbol, and because it's roughly similar to Longclaw. Darksister? He wants to give it to Arya, but given she's a child, he decides to loan it around to his trusted friends.
** He first proposes giving it to Edd, who swears it off due to losing the Wall in the war, and even then this was only his 4th choice.
** Then he loans it to Selmy to carry, who then passes it off to Robb in the short term. However, when Robb hears he's only got it until Arya is older, he wilts that even in the new life, he's only holding one of the most famous swords until Jon's favorite sister gets older.

Even after the seriousness of the Wars, there's some room for some laughs along the way.

!!The Main Fic
* Let's just say that every time one of the characters who died early hears the news from later in the war, the StunnedSilence and BigWhat is always a good laugh.

* Talisa is brought before Dany, expecting death and doom, only to instead get the hand of friendship, and a chuckle that Dany has no interest in the bad stuff when the White Walkers are the much bigger threat.
* Ned throws what was admittedly a Tantrum over the fact that Jamie is now working for them.
* Qyburn was threatened by The Mountain to make him feel invulnerable like before. Instead, Qyburn turned the tables of Gregor, and [[OffWithHisHead beheaded him]].

!!The Character sidestories
* Brienne is dragged into essentially a makeover session by the Lannister daughters.
** And the best part is that it works. Brienne is far more "presentable", and Tyrion has to keep eating to keep himself from making a jape about how different Brienne now is.
* Stevron Frey has to constantly remind himself that whatever humiliations and pains he's going through now, it's better off than being dead. Even when it involves eating a meat pie during his sister's wedding.
