** In fact, pretty Pretty much adaption is Lighter and Softer all of the adaptations are this, really. While the cartoons [[AudienceShift are aimed at children]], the modern comics are not, but they're still a lot less dark than the original Mirage comics, not just comics. [[TropesAreTools Given how gory the cartoons. original comics could get, this isn't necessarily a bad thing]]. Only ''[[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesTheLastRonine The 2003 series probably comes Last Ronin]]'' has come close to the closest to matching that tone, but even that is not quite as dark.style of the original comics.
