* StatusQuoIsGod: While there are always major arcs and CrisisCrossover events, the dust eventually settles and things in the Marvel universe eventually go back to a typical norm. The X-Men and other mutants will always be treated as the outcasts by society who hates and fears them. Any progress Spider-Man makes in his life is always undone and he'll always go back to being a single bachelor with money and women problems. Ben Grimm, the Thing, will never be cured of his condition and remain perpetually stuck in his monstrous, rocky form. And in contrast to {{Manga}} or {{Anime}}, many heroes typically don't have their power or abilities increase as the story progresses (unless a specific story calls for it and they're typically brought back to normal later), such as that brief period of time Spider-Man grew far stronger with the abilities of "The Other" but had it all undone with the events of ''ComicBook/OneMoreDay''.
