Mike [=McCoy=] (Presley) is a rock star who travels around the country with his band when he's not racing cars. He catches the romantic interest of Cynthia Foxhugh (Creator/ShelleyFabares), the daughter of car manufacturer Howard Foxhugh (Creator/CarlBetz), who wants Mike to drive his newest creation in an upcoming race. Also vying for Mike's affections are Diana St. Clair (Creator/DianeMcBain), a popular author who writes advice books about men for women, and Mike's drummer Les (Creator/DeborahWalley), who struggles with making her bandmates regard her as a woman.
