Once Peter embraces the power and personality changes the symbiote brings, Peter acts more like a bad boy and clearly ''thinks'' that he's God's gift to women, but the various looks of exasperation and even disgust he gets from most of the women he encounters tell a very different story—probably because, contrary to expectations, he's still a clueless geek, only now that he's "evil" he's an obnoxious and arrogant one with only a superficial understanding of what people would perceive as cool. However he is shown to have success with charming some woman, but only because they were previously attracted to his normal good personality, with the symbiote simply giving him the confidence to act on that attraction to ask Gwen out and get the attention of Ursula and Betty.

* AdaptationalCurves: Inverted. Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) is nowhere near as buff as the comics version, who was already a dedicated bodybuilder before he joined with the ComicBook/{{Venom}} symbiote. This was to make Eddie more clearly an EvilCounterpart to Peter Parker himself.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler:Upset with Peter kissing Gwen (as Spider-Man) and pushing her away to focus on Uncle Ben's murderer, Mary Jane goes to see amnesiac Harry, who still has feelings for her (and presumably no memory of their break-up). In the heat of the moment, the two briefly kiss. But immediately, Mary Jane realizes her mistake and leaves. Leaving Harry to sooth in anger from (once again) being spurned by her, which leads to him regaining his memory and being goaded by his hallucination of Norman to use her to destroy Peter.]]
