** At several points during the film - most prominently during the subway scene - an ad for a fictional fashion line called Thomas and Kane can be seen. Roy Thomas and Gil Kane were the co-creators of Morbius.
** An early scene in the film shows a young Morbius being raised in Greece. Although the film version appears to be [[AdaptationalNationality American]], the comics version is Greek.

* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler:Morbius stops Milo from feeding on people for good, but in doing so is forced to kill him. With his window closing on how effective the replacement blood will continue to be, it indicates Morbius eventually having to be forced to resort to actual human blood to survive--and his feeding on Martine likely meaning the window is closed forever right then and there. Dr. Nicholas is killed by Milo and Martine dies by his hand as well, though now she's returned as a vampire herself who will probably not be frugal about who she feeds on either. Also, [[Film/SpiderManHomecoming Adrian Toomes]] arrives in the universe, meets with Morbius and recruits him to form a team together as well.]]

* WolverinePublicity: the trailer shows graffiti of Spider-Man that reads "Murderer". However, that shot doesn't appear in the movie, and the director [[https://www.cinemablend.com/superheroes/spider-man/morbius-director-addresses-that-spider-man-murderer-mural-from-the-movies-first-trailer confirmed]] that it was added by the studio without his involvement, suggesting that the shot was added to piggyback on the popularity of the Spider-Man franchise. The presence of Michael Keaton in the trailer also falls under this trope, considering that he only has a brief post-credits cameo.

The FBI couldn't actually charge Michael for killing them, it happened in international waters on a Panamanian ship.

* AssholeVictim: The eight mercernaries that Michael murders on the cargo ship upon first gaining his vampire powers. Even the FBI agents decline to charge Michael with their deaths despite him openly confessing to it because they were criminals who were probably guilty of something and the world is likely better off without them in it anymore.

This seems somewhat nitpicky. The mercenaries might not have done anything horrific on-screen but the fact that they’re mercenaries - guns for hire - means that most people in-universe or out generally wouldn’t care without it having to be protagonist centered morality. Eddie Brock does the same thing in Venom when he kills mercs and security forces but no one bats an eye there either. It’s not like Morbius is killing innocent people or police officers.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: During his first transformation Morbius [[spoiler:slaughters ''eight people'']], however, instead of taking it as a MoralEventHorizon, everyone in the movie, good or bad, just brushes it off for no other reason than that [[spoiler:the victims were mercenaries.]] Never mind that [[spoiler:the worst thing any of them does on screen is being condescending towards Martine, or that it isn't even stated that they have done anything bad.
