Considering the fact that Kang is being built up to be the next GreaterScopeVillain for the MCU, the tonal change makes perfect sense -- though introducing him in an ''Ant-Man'' movie was an interesting choice. It also gives Ant Man and the Wasp their DudeWheresMyRespct moments as genuine Avengers as the ones to introduce the next BigBad.

* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Each size-changing suit has a different colour scheme: red for Scott's, yellow for Hope's, and purple for Cassie's.

** Jimmy Woo appears for just a few seconds near the beginning during the GoodTimesMontage, meeting up with Scott for lunch.

* BigCreepyCrawlies: Hank Pym's ants are this in the Quantum Realm, ranging from human-sized to absolutely massive.

* MesACrowd: Surrounding the core of the enlarged power source to Kang's ship is a "Probability Storm" that multiplies anyone approaching it to [[DuplicateDivergence manifest every choice they could possibly make]]. This includes alternate timelines like a Scott that stayed on as a Baskin-Robbins employee and never became Ant-Man, completely confused about what the other Scotts are wearing. Acknowledging the duplicates and arguing with them only compounds the effect. Scott almost gets buried under millions of copies before Cassie's plea for him to return galvanizes them into cooperating. Hope enters and experiences the same thing but when she and Scott reunite [[{{Doppelmerger}} all their possibilities collapse into one]] as they work together to shrink Kang's power source.
