Yugi and all the people he has over for a sleepover are ''not'' happy at the visit; Yugi and the Pharaoh in particular wory about Grandpa Solomon being woken up after a stressful day.

!!This work contains examples of:
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Witches Wizards Shadows and Souls]]
* ArbitraryScepticism: As per dub canon, Kaiba refuses to believe in magic even when he actually ''has to use it'' to defend himself from the Death Eaters. Others note that his attitude limits his abilities quite a bit, as he should have been about as strong as the Pharaoh himself, yet gets drained if he tries to use anything other than his Blue-Eyes.
* BatmanGambit: It's pointed out that half the game in Duel Monsters is tricking your oponent, not just playing your cards right. For example, Bakura's cards being specifically selected to freak out people.
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler:Harry, Ron, and Hermione feel extremely betrayed by the fact that Yugi and Ryou host their "darks" in them because of their own negative experiences with Voldemort, especially after they find out about how Yami lost Yugi's soul.]]
* ContrivedCoincidence: Fudge visited Japan for a diplomatic visit and the Death Eaters made a terrorist attack there. It just so happened that the YGO gang was there.
* DarkIsNotEvil: The YGO gang uses Shadow Magic, but is firmly against Voldemort and the Oreichalcos. However, their belief in this trope is one of the many reasons why [[spoiler:they eventually they have a huge fall-out with the HP gang, which associates dark magic with Voldemort and his followers.]]
* DeathByAdaptation: [[spoiler:Lucious Malfoy dies in the climax of the fic after being too burdened by Oreichalcos magic and transforming into a beast.]]
* DeliberateValuesDissonance: [[spoiler:Sharing your mind with a different person is seen as normal by the YGO gang, who are used to them as scary but friendly people, but it is an anathema to the HP gang, who's experienced boil down to being possessed by Voldemort. They have a severe fallout over this.]]
* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: Bellatrix loses her soul in the first chapter after falling unconscious inside an Oreichalcos barrier. In the books, she is killed by Molly Weasley in the battle of Hogwarts.
* EvilDetectingDog: It's noted that animals avoid the old Ridle family home where Voldemort has set base because it's steeped with dark magic.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Several Death Eaters find out the hard way that using Oreichalcos magic doesn't always end well for the user, [[spoiler:prime example being Lucious Malfoy.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: Draco slowly starts one after the point he realizes that his father tricked him into bringing an Oreichalcos stone in Hogwarts. This is followed by [[spoiler:being inflicted a Punishment Game by Yami which makes him realize that he never had any real friendships or close relationships.]]
* MagicalAccessory: Notable Death Eaters are given a pendant with an Orichalcos stone. It also doubles as AmplifierArtifact, because it enhances their magic and physical prowess.
* MistakenForQuake: When the Death Eaters attempt to attack Kaiba Corp, Kaiba unleashes Blue-Eyes White Dragon on them with an attack so strong that it actually shakes the foundations of the building (and was mistaken for an actual earthquake by outsiders). He pulls an even stronger one when [[spoiler:he defeats Raquiel with Ultimate Dragon - that one's so strong that Mako, who was outsailing at the time. though that a ''tsunami'' was coming.]]
* NeverRecycleABuilding: The old Ridle mansion sat abandoned and nobody paid attention to the place for decades - until an old man was killed in it. And even then nobody cared too much about it. Voldemort is now using it as his base of operations because it's that inconspicuous.
* ReformedButNotTamed: The Thief King is no longer trying to kill the Pharaoh or Ryou, but he has exactly zero mercy towards anyone who does.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: Wizarding authorities think that Voldemort is behind the attacks that left several wizards and muggles soulless because that could have only been done by Dementors, who work for him. Voldemort really is behind the attacks, but they used Oreichalcos stones for it, not Dementors.
* SoulEating: Orichalcos maintains this property, making the wizards think that the victims were attacked by Dementors.
* SummonMagic: Yugi/The Pharaoh, Ryou/Bakura, Malik, and Kaiba, are all capable of summoning their monsters in the real world as per canon. They can also lent this power to other people, though it drains them as if they were summoning themselves.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Magic Monsters Dominions and Destiny]]
* ArbitraryScepticism: Kaiba is back, and his attitude causes even more issues. [[spoiler:Specifically, he dismisses his dreams with Kisara as just dreams, and she gets extremely mad with him because she's trying to warn him for the incoming threat on the Dominion of Souls, on top of it putting a huge strain on their relationship.]] In [[spoiler:the final chapter he admits that the reason he denies magic is because he doesn't like having answers or control over his situation, and magic is definitely something beyond his control.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Dumbledore and Pegasus both prove this in spades when they tag-team in a duel. Dumbledore is using ''Elemental Heroes'' of all decks.
* CallForward: There is an absolute ton of references to ''Anime/YuGiOhGX''.
** When Ron decides to pick up the game, he chooses to go for an Archfiend deck that's basically the same as Titan's.
** Dumbledore reveals that he learned how to duel from Pegasus, and his deck of choice is Elemental Heroes.
** [[spoiler:The Oreichalcos created the Three Phantasmal Beasts by infusing the Three Egyptian God cards with its magic.]]
** In the last chapter, Kaiba and [[spoiler:Kisara]] discuss creating a school for duelling.
* ChildProdigy: Rebecca, who is quite frustrated by the fact that she's about to get her degree soon but won't be able to legally make decisions for herself until she is much older. She also becomes fast friends with Hermione over being the "smart one" in their peers and thus ostracised.
* EveryoneMustBePaired: [[spoiler:The final features Mai and Joey, Tea and Yugi, and Ron and Hermione all getting together, Kaiba and Kisara getting back together after [[ReincarnationRomance a very long break]], and possibly Malik and Ryou getting together if Ron's comments are any indication. Even Bastet the cat has kittens.]]
* EvilIsNotAToy:
** Even after the chaos that was the previous fic's version of the battle of Hogwarts, Voldemort still hasn't learned that magic is sentient and has its own agenda. [[spoiler:Yami Malik openly mocks him for this, but never reveals to him where exactly he's wrong.]] When Voldemort is told that [[spoiler:Oreichalcos was only using him and took over Nagini]], he is dismissive and in denial.
* LoopholeAbuse:
** When Joey and [[spoiler:Koji]] are forced to fight against each other in an Orichalcos duel, the two decide to work together and end the duel in a draw, as it cannot take their souls that way.
** The Hogwarts gang uses this trope to prevent the ministry officials from wiping the memory of every non-Hogwarts student at the end of the fic; they point out that Kaiba and Joey are technically magic users (Joey courtesy of Critias), and the rest have known about magic for years (long before they even made contact with the wizard world) so it would be impractical at best. When they wipe out some of those memories anyway, they had already taken precautions and stored them in a Pensieve.
* OriginalCharacter: Several of the participants in the World Championships, as they are high-ranking duelists from all around the world.
* ThemeNaming: Instead of numbers, the stands at the tournament are categorized by duel monster names. It was Pegasus' idea.
* TournamentArc: The fic takes place during the World Duel Championship. While some chapters focus on the actual Championship, Oreichalcos interference completely derails it.
* WillTheyOrWontThey:
