* ArbitrarySkepticism: Even some of the people who Remember but didn't make it to the Long Night don't believe that the Others are real and coming, despite the blatantly magical nature of their situation. Tyrion even cites it as one of the reasons why Tywin has to be overthrown -- his stubbornness means he'll never believe them about the Others until he sees them for himself.

* ArchEnemy:
** The Night King is this to all of humanity, but ''especially'' to members of the Night's Watch (former, current, and future), and above all else, to Jon Targaryen. Jon is so determined to defeat him that he's willing to spare most of his human enemies and send them to the Wall just so the living can have more swords against the encroaching army of the dead.
** Robert Baratheon to House Targaryen, stemming from his grudge against Rhaegar. While both Jon and Daenerys are willing to make peace with him if it means a united Westeros against the Others, they both regard warring with Robert an inevitability, because not even the Others will be enough to convince Robert to give up the hatred he has for their family.

Added DiffLines:

* SinsOfOurFathers: Robert's hatred of Rhaegar is so strong that extends to other Targaryens, including and ''especially'' Jon once he finds out about Jon's existence. Everyone openly acknowledges that even the threat of the Others probably won't be enough for Robert to set aside his misplaced grudge against Jon, and that the only way to fully unite the realm against the Others is to war with Robert and either kill him or force him to bend the knee and allow Jon to take the throne.

* {{Irony}}: After Tyrion decides to spare [[spoiler:Shae]], Genna notes that he will have to be utterly ruthless to whoever next wrongs him to ensure that no one assumes him to be weak. That person ends up being [[spoiler:Maester Creylen]], who is quite literally responsible for ''every major problem Tyrion has ever dealt with'' ([[spoiler:Creylen ensured that Joanna would die after giving birth to Tyrion, which Tywin blames said son for]]), so it's pretty clear Tyrion will take ''extra'' care with making sure that individual suffers horribly.

** The [[spoiler:Maester Conspiracy]] reveals a number of them. To wit:
*** Joanna Lannister did ''not'' suffer DeathByChildbirth. [[spoiler:Maester Creylen instead let her bleed to death in order to make her husband Tywin one of the Maesters' pawns in their plot to end the Targaryen dynasty]].
*** Both Luthor and Alerie Tyrell were murdered by [[spoiler:Maester Lomys. The former's horse was poisoned, which led it it jumping off a cliff with Luthor on it. Alerie was also poisoned, leading to her suffering several miscarriages until her body finally gave out]].
*** Robert's Rebellion was entirely orchestrated by [[spoiler:the Maesters]], who burnt missives from Rhaegar, Lyanna ''and'' Elia, which presumably explained the truth about the 'kidnapping'. That led to Rickard and Brandon Stark's deaths, which kickstarted the Rebellion and the eventual downfall of the Targaryen dynasty.

** Regardless of whatever Jon, Sansa, and Arya do, there are certain events that Ned, Catelyn, and Robb won't take well. That's partly why Bran wanted to tell the latter three everything upfront.
** Planetos is a fantastic ''medieval'' society, so news gets around slowly. This is both a blessing and a curse.
** The former slaves of Mereen want their freedom, but know that in order to ''enjoy'' their freedom, let alone keep it, they need someone to run the city effectively. This is partially why they spared Hizdahr; while their impromptu leader Daario can handle the military, Hizdahr can handle the actual day-to-day ruling.
** The Northern Lords absolve Jaime for his murder of Aerys after they all realize exactly what kind of catastrophe he averted with his betrayal. All his many other crimes? Not so much. They are willing to work with him, but they expect nothing less than a full punishment for his crimes when the war is over, HeelFaceTurn or not.
** As well-deserved the brutal punishment Edmure heaped on the Freys was, the people closest to him are still severely disturbed by it because it is ''extremely'' reminiscent of a young Tywin Lannister and his actions against the Reynes and Tarbecks. Considering that Tywin currently has a ZeroPercentApprovalRating and made his house so hated that even his siblings turned on him for the sake of survival, he's just about the ''last'' person Edmure's loved ones want him to resemble.
** Euron kills all of the crew on his ship that Remembers before engaging a Yi-Ti ship that happens to be nearby. [[spoiler:The rival crew Remembers and promptly kill him]].
** Robert's attempts to be a better king go unheeded and unacknowledged by the other kingdoms, partially because they've already declared for Jon and partially because his failure to rule for over a decade is what landed them in the current situation in the first place. Essentially, they don't care about his change in character because they can't trust him to stay the course, something they all desperately need considering that the Second Long Night will be upon them soon.
** Robin Arryn might be free of Lysa's poison, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a child nowhere close to his majority whose education has been neglected thanks to his mother's smothering. He might officially be the Lord Paramount of the Vale, but the actual power is currently in the hands of his new ParentalSubstitute and regent, Bronze Yohn Royce.

** Tywin’s ruthlessness and desire for power made him one of the most feared men in the entire Seven Kingdoms. Come the Remembering, when everyone actually has the capacity to fight back, and now he’s one of the most hated and fought against. Even his own siblings turn against him, and the only reason why the Lannisters have any respect at all is because he’s no longer in charge.
** After what he did to his daughter Shireen, Stannis is firmly in this group. Absolutely no one has any care for him at all, not even his daughter or his brothers. Shireen and Davos both immediately pull a ScrewThisImOutOfHere as soon as they Remember, while Robert has him thrown in a Black Cell.
** No one misses the Freys after they broke SacredHospitality at the Red Wedding. While some are concerned with how brutal Edmure was in his purge of the Freys (as it was disturbingly similar to what a young Tywin Lannister did to Castamere), they’re still hated by all (with the exception of Fat Walda), both versions of their deaths are put into a song, and they’re only ever spoken about in anger.
---> '''Greatjon''': The bread’s not poisoned. We’re not the fucking Freys.
** Cersei Lannister. By far and away the most hated woman in Westeros, if not the world. Cersei went so insane during the Long Night that not only was she talked about in the same breath as Aerys, she was considered ''worse''. Notably, the man who ended up killing her in the previous timeline was her brother Jaime. Even though kinslaying is considered one of the worst sins a man could commit in Westeros, there's not a single person who holds it against him for killing her, not even their own family. If anything, everyone pities Jaime for being forced into that situation in the first place.
