*** And then, in Chapter 13, after the photography ring is shut down, Tsuruya's father visits Kyon's family and tells them that Kyon has secured a position at his company, due to Kyon rescuing his daughter from rampant hoodlums.

* FoodAsBribe: [[spoiler:In Chapter 59, Kuyou unintentionally prevented Hanyuu from informing Rika about Kyon and the girls disappearing from Mion's house by bribing her with (you guessed) cookies.]]

** There is another one hidden in the RunningGag about Kyon fending off nonexistent accusations of being a {{lolicon}}. Unlike all the other people at the other end of the joke, his father's reaction consisted in a sharp wince and a quick change of subject. * AdaptationDecay: InUniverse example. A BrokenBase of the ''{{Trope-tan}}'' [[ShowWithinAShow anime adaptation]] formed because its second season diverged too much from the manga, according to Haruhi in Chapter 32.

It starts with an InMediasRes prologue and moving swiftly on to an [[AnachronicOrder Anachronic Arc]] before finally settling into as chronological an order as possible when a StableTimeLoop shows up every few chapters.

** Haruhi's favorite website is never mentioned by name. However, as it's mentioned it's a wiki, it inspired the JustForFun/TropeTan [[ShowWithinAShow anime]], and has an entry for HeadPet, [[TvTropes the name of this website]] isn't exactly a mystery for the reader.

* CelebrityParadox: In addition to this wiki apparently existing in the fic's universe, Taniguchi mentions LuckyStar in Chapter 33.

This leads to two characters both referred to as "Tsuruya," and if this story didn't use JapaneseHonorifics any scene involving both of them at once would be ''extremely'' confusing.

* RightForTheWrongReasons: Several cases, typically due to people on either sides of the {{Masquerade}} trying to predict the actions/reasons of others in what's on the way to becoming a ThirtyXanatosPileup.

** Haruhi tries to invoke this trope in Chapter 19 by having Kyon take Mikuru to see a [[{{Film/Saw}} gory movie]]. Mikuru ends up in Kyon's lap, with Haruhi clinging to one arm and Miyoko clinging to the other.
