Meanwhile, Twilight demonstrates that their own Teleportation Spell is thoroughly-researched and documented with several safeties in-place to prevent Splinching that even a then-untrained Witch like Hermione could use it when given both a written wand-based version of the spell. ** [[HistoricalDomainCharacter Prime Minister John Major]] and the British Government becomes this thanks to the Equestrians providing them with both the means to develop Magitek capable of regrowing lost limbs and curing Cancer, along with allowing for the Muggleborn officers in their ranks to finally cut loose [[spoiler:Near the end of ''Book I''; they manage to capture Cornelius Fudge and Dolores Umbridge; the two most powerful members of the Ministry of Magic, before they tried to start an interplanetary incident through capturing the Equestrian Ambassador in John's own office.]]

* ADegreeInUseless: Muggleborns who are unable to find employment in the Wizarding World and thus return to the Muggle World can't make any practical use of their education at Hogwarts because the Muggles don't know it exists; since they have no provable education after age 11, the only jobs they can find are with the military. As time goes on, however, the Muggle government finds ways to make use of disillusioned muggleborns [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal at the expense of the Wizarding World]] but Equestria starts looking to recruit wizards and witches for a variety of jobs. Since Equestria doesn't care about blood status, they'll accept just about anyone who is willing and able to do the work required.

* SocialServicesDoesNotExist: ''[[AvertedTrope Averted]],'' Social Services actually do exist, with a member of Child Services arriving in Chapter 44 to interview Harry. [[spoiler:The reason why the Dursleys were able to get away with their abuse towards Harry Potter was unintentionally because of the ''[[UnusuallyUninterestingSight Fidelius]]'' Charm that Albus had applied to Harry Potter to prevent adults[[note]]who might have been ''Imperious'd'' by Voldemorts' Followers seeking revenge on Harry[[/note]] from attempting to remove Harry from the Dursley's care; [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter Albus believing that the Dursleys would take care of Harry since he was their nephew.]] Once the charm is canceled (and Dumbledore realizes [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone how royally he messed up]]), the officials waste no time in making Twilight Sparkle Harry's legally-recognized guardian by both England and Equestria.]]

* SufficientlyAnalyzedMagic: Equestria is known to treat magic as a science and Twilight who sees herself as a scientist is able to help human physicists combine Equestria's understanding of magic and muggle science to create what is potentially the Theory of Everything.

* TastesLikeFriendship: Celestia manages to earn Harry's trust by helping him eat his breakfast (as his hooves were both in casts). After this, he comes to realize that she doesn't mean him harm. He's still afraid of her, but this attitude fades the more time he spends in Equestria. By his second Hearth's Warming, he doesn't seem nervous in her presence at all.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Dumbledore, of a variety. While his motivations here are largely the same as they are in the books, and he truly doesn't mean any children at Hogwarts harm, his arrogance in this story is a bigger threat to his plans than anything any Death Eater ever did. His failure to check on Harry at any time when he was with the Durselys (relying on tracking charms that actually canceled each other out) led to the boy being beaten and abused for nearly eight years before he found his way to the portal shortly before his tenth birthday. Not only that, but even after meeting the Mane 6 and seeing the familial relationship Harry has with them, Dumbledore ''still'' doesn't realize what has happened until Twilight actually spells it out for him. To his credit, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he clearly realizes his role in what happened and how he possibly royally messed up his own plans, as Harry now seems to want nothing to do with Earth or the Wizarding World]].
* TranquilFury: Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, and one of Harry's doctors all slip into this when they find out how the Dursleys have treated Harry. The only things keeping Princess Celestia and Twilight from doing anything are initially the inability to find where the portal to where Harry is from and later so they can establish peaceful first contact with the British government.

* WhatTheHellHero: This most often happens to Dumbledore at point in the story and some examples are:

** Chapter 25 zigzags this by showcasing the importance of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painite painite]] on both worlds [[PowerCrystal to enhance certain magical effects for armor]]. While it's incredibly rare on Earth and the Goblins of Gringotts make high offers for the mineral so the Equestrians won't sell it Muggle jewelers, it's quite commonplace in Equestria and Rarity rarely uses painite for her dresses since it can interfere with the wearer's spellcasting.

** Both are mentors to Harry who teach him magic; Twilight is a direct mentor and his eventual adoptive mother, while Dumbledore is an indirect mentor as the Headmaster of Harry's school. While Harry loves Twilight for all the love and support she has given him when she didn’t have to, he doesn’t really trust Dumbledore due to him placing Harry with the Dursleys and apparently never checking to see how he was doing (it takes a ''long'' time before Harry is willing to forgive Dumbledore, and even then it's clear he doesn't tryst him).

* MindScrew: Most of the things Pinkie Pie does count,f given that Twilight outright states that Pinkie routinely breaks the laws of physics ''and'' magic. For example, Pinkie has baked a cake and claimed that it took her 45 minutes, despite being in the kitchen for a shorter amount of time; when the discrepancy is pointed out, her response is "I work fast".

* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Since ponies don’t normally wear clothes, Equestria completely lacks a nudity taboo which often leads to some awkward situations when ponies forget to wear clothes while transformed into human form, as well as some strange looks when Harry absentmindedly admits to having bathed with the rest of the CMC. Leads to numerous moments of EattingTheEyeCandy.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Of a variety. * TheKindnapper: During a conversation with Castor, Dumbledore admits that there are those in the Wizengamot (himself included) who are trying to introduce a new law allowing for Aurors to monitor possible Muggle-Born wizarding children as soon as they're born, kidnap them as soon as they show signs of magic, obliviate the parents, then place the child in the care of a wizarding family. The belief is that this will better protect the statute of secrecy and give Muggle-Born wizards more knowledge of the wizarding world. Castor immediately tells him [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech all of the reasons why this is a bad idea]], namely the fact that kidnapping children and obliviating the parents is an immoral crime that he, as a British government worker and a [[PapaWolf father]], cannot allow.

* FantasticRacism: Dolores Umbrige's utter hatred for anything pertaining to Muggles leads to her persuading Minister Fudge and Dumbledore to try and convince/force the Equestrians into abandoning their interactions with the Muggle government and instead dealing exclusively with the magical world. Due to the fact that the Equestrians are all ponies by default and have human Animagi, she believes that they are all dumb beasts...and is completely unprepared for the ''brutal'' (and mildly cathartic) verbal beat down she gets from Prince Blueblood.

** Because house elves need a strong source of passive magic to survive, the four house elves that accidentally visit Equestria with Twilight during the basilisk incident decide to live there because Equestria has a much stronger magical field than Earth.
** Post-revival, Myrtle chooses to live in Equestria [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe due to the Gryffindor cohort being kind enough to allow her into their family]]. By Book II, Myrtles' been given her own room in Twilight's castle and is [[LikeASonToMe treated like her daughter.]]

** Draco Malfoy is a lot less effective as a bully here, as he quickly learns that Harry is a ''much'' more powerful wizard that anyone predicted (capable of Animagi transformation and teleportation ''before'' coming to Hogwarts). He also realizes that his three girlfriends are as powerful as he is, Harry is the ward of a ''princess'', and he's completely unaffected by ''anything'' Malfoy tries to say to get under his skin. This continues into the second book, where his family not only ends up broke (with his father facing time in Azkaban for holding Dark Artifacts), but thanks to the influence of [[spoiler: Tom Riddle from the diary]], he's manipulated into taking part in an act of violence/terrorism that will likely follow him for the rest of his life.
** Dolores Umbridge, in the first book, tries to manipulate Minister Fudge into taking Ambassador Blueblood hostage (believing that he's as smart as a wizarding world unicorn), liquidate the Equestrians' dealings with the UK government, and take all of Equestria's funds for the ministry. This plan fails spectacularly thanks to anti-magic charms installed throughout Major's office, leaving Fudge-for-brains and Dumbridge trapped and helpless, with only Dumbledore's interference preventing them from being imprisoned. In the second book, Umbridge (due to the efforts of Sirius and Anne [[spoiler: Starlight Glimmer in disguise]], is finally exposed for her manipulation, deception, and bribery, losing her job, power, and prestige while gaining a prison sentence.

** Dumbledore ''tries'' to depict himself as this, but his government duties and arrogance have led to him making glaring errors in the school's rules and his own methods of dealing with problems in the school (which, as Twilight points out, endanger the children on a near daily basis). Twilight is so appalled by his disregard for the safety of the students that she nearly pulls Harry and the CMC from Hogwarts.

* IChooseToStay: Harry's early childhood leaves him with a lot of distrust towards humans, especially adults. When he comes to Equestria and forms loving relationships for the first time that he can remember, it's no surprise to anyone that Harry prefers living in Equestria, especially when the Wizarding World is full of people who either lack the ability to think logically or are [[FantasticRacism bigoted towards non-magicals]].

* CallingInTheCavalry: When Harry believes that a centaur like Tirek is in the Forbidden Forest, he calls for Philomena, who brings Twilight, who brings ''an armada''. While there's no magic-stealing centaur, the guards manage to save the life of the unicorn targeted by Voldemort, as well as her foal. What's more, Twilight tears Dumbledore a new one for allowing her son to be put in a situation where he was scared enough to use Philomena to call for help.

** Dumbledore is constantly reminded that it was because of his arrogance that led to Harry being abused until he was nine. When he finally realizes just ''how'' badly [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he messed up]], he offers sincere apologies to Harry and Twilight. While they accept his apology, it's too little too late, as Harry wants as little to do with him or the wizarding world as possible (planning on returning to Equestria the second his education is complete) and McGonnagall (who told Dumbledore not to leave Harry with the Dursleys in the first place) spends ''weeks'' hexing him behind his back before she finally buries the hatchet. Even after he gives numerous sincere apologies, it still takes a long time before Twilight or Harry are willing to work with him.

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Or rather, "Wizards Love Monopoly" as was shown with a couple of Muggleborn Griffindor students had brought a board of Monopoly[[note]]An American board game[[/note]] to Hogwarts that they used to wile away the time while waiting for a turn to pet the Pony Animagi students in the common room. Next time it is brought up, most of the locations on the board have been renamed into Wizarding Equivalents with the currency being altered and the pieces also being transfigured and enchanted.

* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Much like with the William Shakespeare example in Book I, Book II reveals that Creator/BramStoker was a Half-Blood and that used LoopholeAbuse to spread the story of Count Dracula of Wallachia to the Muggle World without actually revealing the existence of the Wizarding World by publishing it as a work of fiction. The term ''[[TheRenfield Renfield]]'' was later appropriated by the Ministry of Magic to refer to individuals underneath the influence of Vampires.
