These examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** A U.A. applicant by the name of Orkaba Ka is denied admittance into U.A. because he gleefully hindered and bullied his fellow applicants during the entrance exams. A hero academy as prestigious as U.A. would never in their right minds allow a {{Jerkass}} like that to become a student at their school. [[note]]If you're wondering why this guy didn't make it while Bakugo did despite both of them having bad attitudes, it's because Bakugo, despite being a {{Jerkass}} himself, [[EveryoneHasStandards at least kept to himself and didn't bother the other kids]].[[/note]] While bullying is more tolerated in Japan, many of Orkaba's actions could be considered cheating.
** When Aizawa spots Hitoshi during the exam and asks Nezu to place him in Class 1-A, Nezu only makes him a probationary member of 1-A and tasks Aizawa with getting him to an acceptable level before he can officially join. U.A. is one of the most exclusive schools in Japan and not even the direct recommendation of a teacher can get Hitoshi in if he doesn't meet their standards.

After the Sports Festival, Endeavor barges in and forces an interview ''just'' so he can delegitimize Izuku's overall win and Bakugo's beating Shoto. He not only claims Izuku only won by luck, he has the gall to say everyone in Izuku's half of the block was ''weaker'' than those in Shoto's block and had to rely on "tricks" to fight, and that Bakugo only beat Shoto via ''technicality''. When the interviewer rightfully points out his takedown of the Zero Pointer and the speed he demonstrated in the cavalry battle, he derides Izuku as being a one-trick LightningBruiser that Shoto could have easily beaten. And as the Number 2 Hero, his word carries weight, so when says this and adds on his decision to not send an offer to Izuku, not only does Izuku's ''7,324'' intership offers drop to ''10'', but ''everyone'' in the East block has their offers drop, the only exception being Itsuka since Endeavor makes it sound like Izuku cheated her out of a win.

* HateSink: ''Hisashi Midoriya''. While not physically abusive like Endeavor, Hisashi is a nasty piece of work who only cared about being Izuku's father once Izuku won the Sports Festival. He tries to convince Izuku to come live with him in England while claiming he loves him, when it's apparent to everyone he's nothing more than a GlorySeeker. It's gets to the point he starts shouting that he ''owns'' Izuku, and accuses Inko of lying about him being Quirkless and cheating on him, prompting [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness the normally meek Masaru]] to palm strike him in the face and send him flying with an explosion. To solidify how much of an asshole he is, he was all set to burn the Bakugo house and everyone in it, including a bunch of teenagers and his own son, to a crisp out of anger, only being stopped by Toshinori putting the fear of god into him. Even ''that'' wasn't enough initially, as he had planned on using his influence to ruin Izuku and Inko's lives for defying him, while ''maybe'' making Inko his mistress as punishment, only giving up upon realizing the man who terrified him was ''[[BullyingADragon freaking All Might]]''.

Lady, [[spoiler:the three of them in turn being let in on the secret of One For All while aiding Izuku in hunting down All For One.]] Here, he gets more focus as one of Izuku's mentors, initially striking a minor friendship with him following Izuku saving Bakugo, and being the one to take Izuku on as an intern instead of Gran Torino. He's also given a closer connection to the Iida family via Tensei, and in turn plays a role in the Hosu arc.

** Izuku being ChildhoodFriends with Itsuka lets him realize how bad his relationship with Bakugo had gotten, causing him to stop trying to salvage their friendship up until they have a proper match at Rekai's dojo.
** Izuku having an adverse reaction to One For All causes several things to happen [[AdaptationalEarlyAppearance earlier than canon]].
*** Izuku meets the vestiges soon after getting One For All due to their fighting with the spirit of the Devil Fruit causing an adverse reaction.
*** Gran Torino is called in by Toshinori once Izuku is being treated, and takes part in training him earlier, in turn letting Izuku learn Full Cowl before even entering U.A. Due to this, instead of interning with him, Izuku interns with Kamui Woods.
*** Izuku is made intimately familiar with Nezu and Recovery Girl thanks to his incident, and is introduced early to Ectoplasm, Midnight, and Vlad King.
*** Due to puking blood and needing to be taken to U.A., Inko is brought to U.A. and meets Toshinori earlier. And while she remains ignorant of him being All Might [[spoiler:until Kamino]], the two begin dating thanks to her being more familiar with him as Izuku's trainer.
** Izuku meets Momo before going to U.A. while at Dagobah Beach, the two becoming much closer than in canon as a result. Momo is likewise able to realize the falsehood in Izuku losing his points, and as such, is able to make him realize he got in rather than let him be depressed for a week.
** Tenya and Itsuka learning about Izuku seemingly giving up his points to save Ochako from the Zero Pointer is enough to convince them to join Ochako in trying to give their points to Izuku. It also in turn has the three of them form a friend circle with Izuku and Momo before they even get to U.A.
** Orkaba's confrontation with Ochako, Tenya, and Itsuka nearly gets violent, only for Shinso to interfere and send them off. Aizawa witnessing this allows Shinso to get some last minute rescue points, and helps him convince Nezu to let Shinso be a reserve student in the Hero Course.
** Thanks to meeting Momo after the entrance exams and Momo having an entire mansion to herself, Ochako is invited to move in with her so they can live together.
** Bakugo seeing Izuku take first place and having experienced his Quirk beforehand causes him to chase after Izuku demanding a fight, with Rekai then forcing the two into a spar at her dojo. As a result, their relationship begins to slowly improve earlier than canon.
** Both 1-A and 1-B going to the USJ causes both classes to get involved with the League of Villains, in turn causing them to grow closer and removing any initial animosity from canon. Monoma's InferioritySuperiorityComplex is instead less about 1-B being outshined by 1-A, and more 1-A having the "monster trio" and wanting to prove himself against them, and it's made clear he's the ''only'' one with those feelings.
** Several of the teams for the cavalry battle end up different.
*** While Izuku still teams up with Ochako, he's joined by Momo and Itsuka instead, with Itsuka being the rider rather than Izuku. They manage to keep the 10 Million points and achieve 1st place.
*** With Momo on Izuku's team, Shoto, Denki, and Tenya are instead joined by Mei. They only manage 3rd place as a result.
*** Thanks to being the reserve student, everyone in the Hero Course knows that Shinso has a Brainwashing Quirk. As such, Monoma recruits him, Sen, and Kosei to form a team. They manage 4th place thanks to stealing headbands from Team Aoyama, comprised of Aoyama, Fumikage, and Mashirao. *** Round 1:
*** Bakugo's first match is against Kosei, who he easily beats within a minute.
*** Ochako's first match is against Tenya, who sends himself out of bounds after she removes his gravity. This means Tenya doesn't gain his initial animosity for Mei like in canon since she doesn't humiliate him here.
*** Shoto's first match still ends up a CurbStompBattle, though he faces Mina instead of Sero, with Mina getting the "nice try" pity chant.
*** Momo's first match is against Sen, who she tricks into setting off a sticky grenade and immobilizes before pushing him out of bounds. This in turn means Momo doesn't suffer confidence issues from suffering a one-sided loss like in canon.
*** Izuku's first match is against Monoma. Monoma managed to copy Endeavor's quirk shortly beforehand, but Izuku manages to send him flying out of bounds into a wall. Monoma uses Tetsutetsu's Quirk at the last second to try and lessen the blow, but the impace combined with overheating leaves him with a concussion and burn marks, necessitating he be carried away on a stretcher.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Because he's only a reserve student, most of the Hero course students haven't gotten to know Hitoshi or even realize what his Quirk is. So when Mashirao, Yuga, and Fumikage lament failing to warn Hanta about his Quirk, Tenya is initially surprised the rest of the class doesn't know, before quickly realizing only he, Izuku, Ochako, and Momo actually know due to bothering to ''ask'' him. Monoma, Sen, and Kosei likewise knew, but only because Monoma figured out on his own and asked Hitoshi to be in their team for the cavalry battle.

*** Thanks to being the reserve student, everyone in the Hero Course knows that Hitoshi has a Brainwashing Quirk. As such, Monoma recruits him, Sen, and Kosei to form a team. They manage 4th place thanks to stealing headbands from Team Aoyama, comprised of Aoyama, Fumikage, and Mashirao. The former two in turn don't go on to the next round, while Mashirao isn't given the opportunity to drop out, same for Nirengeki, meaning Tetsutetsu and Ibara don't move on like in canon.

** Bakugo seeing Izuku take first place and having experienced his Quirk beforehand causes him to chase after Izuku demanding a fight, with Reiko then forcing the two into a spar at her dojo.
