* GenderBlenderName: Jack chooses to go by this after [[NeverHeardThatOneBefore hearing too many people guess]] (correctly) that she's [[NamedAfterSomebodyFamous named after]] ''Series/CharliesAngels'' star Jaclyn Smith. Her grandmother did not approve.

* AffectionateNickname: Rabbit gets "''Mi conejito''" from Perro Negro. [[spoiler:She later picks up "Bitty" from Firefly.]]

* ArbitrarySkepticism: Members of the media and people of Paris seem confused and not sure what to think about Rabbit, despite this taking place in the information age and Rabbit having a well-publicized career back in Los Angeles. Admittedly, she has caused a lot of damage thanks to her power swap, but given that she and her partner helped found "Positivity Clubs," and that Rabbit has actual fans who take offense to Alya's videos, it's somewhat odd that she's remained a mystery to Paris.

* HatesMySecretIdentity: It goes back and forth with Jack/Rabbit. Rabbit is initially mistaken for an akuma and then for a villain in her own right after causing a lot of damage to a Paris neighbourhood, but Jack, while initially an outcast (an American transfer student with a limited grasp of French), gains some popularity from her classmates after helping save Adrien from an akuma out of costume. On the other hand, while Ladybug knows that Rabbit is a good person, Marinette spends several chapters hating Jack out of misguided jealousy, believing she's interested in Adrien. When Marinette finds out Jack has a boyfriend back in the US, she apologises for her behaviour and she and Alya (who has since become a Rabbit supporter) make friends with her - just in time for Rabbit to screw up again and lose a lot of Ladybug's trust in her. However, they're on good terms by the end of Chapter 9.

** In a curious case, this trope only applies to Jack ''after'' she came to Paris. She had fans and a large number of supporters back in Los Angeles, but very little of that seems to have made its way to Paris (which seems especially odd in the Information Age). [[spoiler:Chapter 19 attempts to HandWave this by revealing that Omega was suppressing information about Rabbit to avoid attracting attention from the Order of the Guardians or the holders of the original Miraculous.]]

* INeverSaidItWasPoison: In Chapter 17, [[spoiler:when Rabbit remembers that Trumpeter Swan knew she was leaving Los Angeles, she realises that the only person he could have got that information from was the chief of the LAPD.]]

* InnocentlyInsensitive: [[spoiler:Chloé causing the Phoenix akuma was a case of this, by her standards. When she interrupted her father's meeting to ask him about create a day to celebrate Ladybug and Chat Noir and suggested replacing Bastille Day, she unwittingly pissed off a member of the Paris fire brigade because it would have meant cancelling the parade]].

* MementoMacGuffin: The Omega Labs [[TransformationTrinket Miraculouses]] are all created from items of sentimental value: a pair of cuff links that belonged to Anita Blaylock's husband, a watch that her daughter gave her when Jack was born, and a pair of dog tags that are hinted to [[spoiler:have belonged to Diego's father, who was killed in Afghanistan]]. The scientists on the project originally tried to get the kwamis to bond with things like standard issue army wristbands with no history to them. When this failed, Dr. Blaylock smuggled in the aforementioned cuff links and successfully created the Swan Miraculous.

* MistakenForCheating: [[spoiler:Jack jumps to conclusions after seeing a snapchat from Diego with another girl. It turns out to be [[RelativeError his new foster sister]] Gabriella, who already has a girlfriend.]]

** Jack does it repeatedly in the first chapter, first when she sees an akuma coming for her, then when her attempt to purify it with her chakram fails, and again when she tries to cast Lucky Strike only to realise she's picked up Dogstruction instead.
** In chapter 13, [[spoiler:Rabbit is initially thrilled to meet the Mantis miraculous holder but realises quite quickly that there's no way she could have flown to Paris so soon after she activated the Beacon.]]

* OutOfCharacterAlert: Alya is first alerted to the Nanny Mite attack by the uncharacteristically good behaviour of Ella and Etta over the last few days. Jack is sceptical that an akuma is involved until she sees Manon Chamack acting the same way.

* TookALevelInKindness: Much like "[[Recap/MiraculousLadybugS02E02DespairBear Despair Bear]]", chapter 11 has Chloé at her most heroic, taking it upon herself to help Ladybug get the akumatized item, and apologising to Phoenix for trying to have Bastille Day cancelled. And, also like "Despair Bear", it doesn't last to the end of the chapter, but does show at least ''some'' progress.
* TransformationSequence: The first time Rabbit transforms, it's described in enough detail that we can visualise it happening on the show:

Her Kwami stretched and got sucked into her old-fashion wristwatch, turning the leather strap white and changing the clock face so it measured five minutes instead of twelve hours, the single hand stuck in an upright position. The transformation continued from there, crawling down one arm, across her chest, and to the other. A large flat throwing ring, a chakaram, appeared in her hand, which she moved across her face in a circular motion, her white domino mask appearing. Tossing her weapon into the air, she yanked two rabbit ears into existence out of the back of her head and magically smoothed her caramel-colored hair into a perfect side fishbone braid. Jack then caught her chakaram and swung it down as she kneeled, the transformation reaching her toes. Now she was entirely dressed in a white skintight suit weaved out of hexagons. She had opera gloves with the tiniest of claws, more for aesthetic purposes than to actually scratch anyone, and heavy knee-high combat boots that packed a wallop whenever she kicked someone. As if to demonstrate, she stood back up and performed a few low air kicks and a side kick. She ended by swinging one leg in a perfect circle, her shin level with her eyes at one point, before slamming it down just as her little fluffy tail appeared. To be honest, Jack could do without the tail, but it came with the bulletproof costume.

* ImagineSpot: Jack has one in Chapter 15 after [[spoiler:she misleads Nymph about what summoned her and her kwami to Paris, suspecting that Ladybug would hate her for it because of her BeserkButton about liars. It goes off on a rather amusing tangent about Firefly's nickname for her.]]

* AliceAllusion: When Rabbit shows up slightly behind schedule for a meeting with the other heroes at Notre Dame, Chat Noir tells her, "[[Disney/AliceInWonderland You’re late, you’re late, for a very important date]]."

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: In Chapter 21, [[spoiler:from Evie to Diego after Rabbit finds out that he lied to him and gets akumatised because of it. “The person you were after your ''abuela'' died? That wasn’t you. That was just a reaction to pain and suffering. The real you is the boy who visited his grandma every Sunday, no matter what, even after she stopped recognizing him, even though living in foster care made things difficult. The boy who brought smiles to the faces of all the other residents because he treated them as if they were his own family. The boy who never let anyone know how much he was hurting because he didn’t want anyone to worry. You have good intentions, Diego. I don’t even need the Swan Miraculous to tell me that because I’ve seen it for myself. You ''care'' about people. So when I found out that you had the Dog Miraculous, I let you keep it. I had faith that it would help you return to yourself, and that you would someday become a Chosen One on your own. You’re still not there yet, but I’m confident you will be, someday. You just need a little more time.”]]
