Just a guy from the UK with a LOT of interests. Desires to be an Abridged Series Creator, but for now, due to numerous Troubled Production issues (not least my iPad with all my notes and drafts dying), I’m sticking to fan fiction.

Known as Androzani84 (a reference to my favourite Doctor Who story) everywhere except Twitter, where I’m 4thdocactinfig (posing as action figure versions of Doctor Who character’s was the thing back then). On forums, I’m Axalotl 09 (a reference to Dani's House)

====Tropes associated with me include:====

  • Aborted Arc: I do my best to avoiding this, often to the point of making long forgotten plot points major again near the end, even if just for half a chapter.
  • Adaptation Expansion: When writing, I often tie together various concepts, as I feel this allows for better storytelling.
  • Berserk Button: Shipping fics, since I like to imagine that fan fiction can at least take place in canon, unless it’s an AU.
    • Adaptation Personality Change in general, since I see it very often as blatant Character Derailment. If it is actually a good twist, I’ll allow it.
    • Calling anything in general “horrible”. In fact, I am very much against the Macekre trope for this reason, since this is often what supporters of this trope see the dubbing as.
  • Canon Foreigner: Generally not fond of these in fan fiction, since most of them take time away from the actual characters. I seldom use them, except as villains.
  • Creator Worship: Towards anyone who can make their tone of choice and plot lines work well. Despite my status as a Toku fan, I pointedly do NOT have this towards Yasuko Kobayashi, considering her an overrated hack who should never have worked in Tokusatsu in the first place.
  • Critical Backlash: If someone tells me something is bad, chances are I’m going to watch it and end up liking it. (Eg, the Neo-Saban era of Power Rangers)
  • Cut And Paste Translation: I don’t really understand how this works, since a lot of the plot is evident in the animation. All they can really change is the specific dialogue.
  • Easily Forgiven: I don’t demonise people over one bad thing, because they otherwise tend to be good people.
  • Filler: Is this really a storytelling issue? Do you really want the plot to end in 5 episodes?
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: I’ve had a real problem with this for years.
  • Magnum Opus Dissonance: While many consider Gokaiger and Go-Busters to be the best Sentai in recent years, I don’t think the former is very good (especially episodes by Junko Komura) and only think the latter gets better after the retool.
  • No Name Given: Other than Facebook and Instagram, I never use my real name on social media.
  • Shown Their Work: I tend to make sure I know what I’m talking about when I join a discussion.
  • Signature Style:
    • “X goes to Y to get away from it all, but it all ends up coming to them.
    • “You won’t be (whatever the character was talking about doing), once I (action the character is about to commit).”
    • Cribbing dialogue from shows I’ve watched that I think suit the situation.
  • The Scrappy: Shinji Kudo and Ren Akiyama have the dubious honour of being my least favourite characters in Kamen Rider, the former for being a whiny Useless Protagonist with little else and the latter for being a Jerkass who’s redeeming qualities seem tacked on.
  • So Okay, It's Average: While many consider W-Fourze the heyday of Kamen Rider, none of the 3 are on my top 5 list of riders and one is even among my least favourites.
  • Take That, Critics!: Whenever someone makes a complaint about something on Twitter, I’ve taken to writing up a sarcastic version of what they want, followed by an image of Lord Baron with the subtitle “Don’t make me laugh”.
  • WTF Casting Agency: I’m no fan of this trope, given that most of it is saying that voices don’t fit characters. I’ve met people in real life who sound nothing like you’d expect them to sound.
    • In the same vain, people saying someone is miscast kind of strikes me as a bizarre complaint, since the reason they got cast int the first place is because they were the best person that auditioned.
