* Nevada State University, located in the UsefulNotes/LasVegas suburb of Henderson, opened in 2002, giving the state a third public four-year college (besides the University of Nevada in Reno and its Las Vegas campus, UNLV). The addition of varsity athletics on the NCAA level is part of the school's master plan; they've even selected school colors (black and gold) and a nickname (Scorpions). But the school has long struggled with its enrollment (it currently only has around 5,000 students), and the entire state has had higher education budget problems, so NSC sports has been limited to a few club teams competing in the Vegas area.

* The idea for a [[Franchise/TheMuppets Muppet]] movie known as ''[[http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/The_Cheapest_Muppet_Movie_Ever_Made! The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made]]'' was originally floated in 1985. It's presumably about Gonzo directing a Muppet movie and he blows half the budget on the opening titles, resulting in the movie progressively getting more low-budget to the point where a shot of the same street corner is used for every city in the world. The title card was revealed in September 2009, but it was subsequently set aside in favor of ''Film/TheMuppets2011''.

* In ''Muertitos'', the equivalent of Hollywood is actually ''called'' Development Hell, in a ShoutOut to this. The story arc it appears in actually primarily parodies AdaptationDecay and DarthWiki/SoBadItsHorrible, however.

* One of the most infamous examples in the world of web originals is LetsPlay/ProtonJon's let's-play of ''VideoGame/Superman64''. The test video went up in December of 2007, with the trailer coming out a month later. The LP wouldn't properly start, however, until mid-2010, and updated once every few months for some time. However, after Stage 5, the playthrough started seeing the delays it would become infamous for, with Stage 6 being released nearly 9 months after Stage 5. After that, the next stage would be put off for nearly a year, and the one after coming out over '''three years later'''. Stage 9, the most recent episode as of this writing, came out roughly 7 months later. At this point, the LP is over a decade old and is just over ''halfway'' done. While Jon was already infamous for his erratic upload schedule since graduating from university, the numerous delays besetting the project (tech issues, personal problems, working on other solo projects, writer's block, [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers and the death of the seller of one of his capture cards]], among others) have become the butt of many jokes among fans. The exact timeline of the LP is as follows:

* ''Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire'': After the first three books were published over four years, ''A Feast for Crows'' took five years to complete due to an aborted five-year TimeSkip in the plot. ''A Dance with Dragons'' took six years to complete. ''The Winds of Winter'' is taking more than ten years to write. The delays over the books caused ''Series/GameOfThrones'' to [[OvertookTheManga overtake the books]] and be completed before ''Winds'' even got a release date.

* A third ride and Avengers E ticket has long been planned for the California version of ''Ride/AvengersCAMPUS''. The first version of an E ticket announced at D23 2019 involved guests boarding a Quintet and then flying to Wakanda for battle. This version of an Avengers E ticket was also heavily rumored to be using a first of its kind ride system. However this was later scrapped for a variety of reasons with capacity being a main one. At D23 2022, Disney announced another version of an Avengers E ticket, this one being themed around the Multiverse. The premise of the ride involves guests teaming up with "all the heroes from everywhere and every when," to ward off a new threat, King Thanos who is a variant of Thanos that won ''Film/AvengersEndgame''. As of November 2023, aside from an additional piece of concept art showing off the ride vehicle, construction work has yet to begin on this ride.

As of December 2014 the pop culture show has apparently been filmed and is in post-production, but nothing has come of the other two shows.

** When Creator/{{Hasbro}} first took over the license, there were plans for a stopgap wave made up of repainted ''Marvel Legends'' and ''X-Men Classics'' figures from [=ToyBiz=]. The line was scheduled to include Wolverine, the ''Comicbook/MutantX'' version of Comicbook/{{Iceman}}, and the [[Comicbook/UltimateMarvel Ultimate]] versions of Comicbook/{{Cyclops|MarvelComics}}, Comicbook/{{Magneto}} and Captain America. While photos of the figures made their way online, the toys themselves were never released.

* In 2018, Creator/FrankMiller would announce a graphic novel starring Carrie Kelley (of ''ComicBook/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns'' fame) with artwork by Ben Caldwell. However, outside of some concept art, there has been little information about the book since its initial announcement, with the last known update being in 2021.
