In 2008, Creator/MarvelComics created a label under which it would publish future animated movies and series. The movies benefit from not being as bogged down as many of Marvel's past animated works by having to appease to the censors, and in general having bigger budgets.

The label has expanded continuously since its founding, and has even lead to its own television programming block, as outlined below.

Though the pre-2008 Marvel-based animated series are not officially under this label, they are included here for complete reference.

As of October 2019, Marvel Animation operates as a unit of the Creator/MarvelStudios brand of the Walt Disney Studios, having previously been a unit of Marvel Entertainment since its founding. Marvel Animation was also managed through Creator/MarvelTelevision prior to its December 2019 closure.
