linking to Marilyn Monroe

Dors first came to public notice as a blonde bombshell, and was promoted as Britain's answer to Marilyn Monroe. Though this certainly helped her profile, and has ensured her immortality, it also tended to work against a genuine talent as an actress and comedienne. Later in her career, she moved into character roles. Many of which played off her earlier sex bomb persona, including playing several MissKitty-type roles.
