* DressingAsTheEnemy: Tim steals the chaos monster mask and robes from one of the Children of Dionysus cultists in order to infiltrate their ceremony and rescue Bernard and the other kidnapped victims.
* InstantSedation: The chaos cult member that abducts Bernard uses chloroform powder to quickly knock out Tim after managing to catch his attempt to punch him. As the cult isn't too concerned about killing bystanders when abducting victims to sacrifice the potential of causing Tim serious damage wasn't something they were worried about.
* JustInTime: Tim arrives and throws a batarang and disarms the lead cultist just as he is are swinging the knife down to sacrifice Bernard.
* PunchCatch: When Tim tries to punch the cultist attacking the restaurant where he and Bernard were having a date the masked man manages to easily catch his punch and use the resulting hold to slam Tim into the ground while tossing chloroform powder in his face.
* ReligionOfEvil: The Children of Dionysus are a Gotham based cult that is enamored with Dionysus' chaos aspect and kidnaps teenagers to beat them and then cut out their hearts in human sacrifices. They notably only kidnap teens who are caught asking questions about them.
* SecretRelationship: Tim masks what he's doing when he goes on his first date with Bernard, as it's his first non-het romantic relationship and he's still figuring out his own bisexuality. He does come out to his friends and family later.
* TargetedHumanSacrifice: The Children of Dionysus are kidnapping teenagers who are at odds with or distant from their parents and who are questioning themselves and their place in the world with the intent to sacrifice them on an altar. Not only does this mean that there is a push to label their victims runaways the "chaos" of their minds as they are not settled in what they are and want to be is attractive to the cult which worships chaos.

* MotiveMisidentification: Damian is eager to support his friend Jon, but seems to think they're going to Pride in order to stop riots that break out after researching the history of pride. Jon tells him they're going to celebrate though whether Damian was expecting trouble from the Pride participants or bigots isn't cleared up. Damian seems to find the idea that he's not going to get to fight anyone disappointing.

* RomanticCandlelitDinner: "Confessions" starts with Nubia and Io finishing up a romantic anniversary dinner.

* ComingOutStory: Connor's narration boxes are his composing a letter to his mother coming out as asexual. His father giving him tickets to events for himself and a "date" repeatedly helped him come to terms with and understand his sexuality, which is why fighting Music Meister at a music hall brought it to mind for him.

* PreAsskickingOneLiner: Alysia shouts ''"I've got a Bat-girl for you!"'' as she swings a bat into Killer Moth's head as he searches for Batgirl, who is injured and whom Alysia just helped.
* TrackingDevice: Alysia finds a tracking device in the spike she helps Batgirl (Babs) get out of her leg.
* TransTribulations: Alysia is frustrated that with all her years of activism she's still fighting the same fights for rights and equality and that violence against trans people is rising.
* WreckedWeapon: Moth breaks Alysia's bat, and her nose, when she steps in to prevent him from attacking an injured Batgirl. She ends up stabbing the broken end into his jetpack, defeating him.

* GreasySpoon: Jackson takes Ha'Wea to New Mexico to the little town he grew up in while his mother was hiding him, and introduces him to the Carly's Diner where he and him mom used to go to once a week. Ha'Wea is impressed with how many things are on the menu and Jackson says that they're all great and greasy.
* TalkingToTheDead: Jackson talks to the statue of his great-grandfather, even though the man died before Jackson got a chance to meet him.
