* NotSoDifferent: For all of their talk about being above the flaws of humanity, they stack their council with people who have great superpowers, highly valuable skills or incredible connections, while never bothering to nominate or invite more "common" mutants. Sounds oddly similar to how human politics tend to work.

* MoralityChain: The purpose of the Summer seats. They will do what they think is right even against their best interests providing a moral center to the Quiet Council, with Nightcrawler being TheHeart of the X-Men, Storm being the TeamMom and Jean being a little bit of both. Too bad there are only three seats and the QC puts everything to a majority rule vote. This becomes worse when Jean leaves, but she entrusts Kurt to remain as the "Soul of The Quiet Council".
