* AdaptationalNameChange: Played with. While Megatronus is his original name, the series never mentions his more iconic title of "the Fallen".

* InformedAttribute: Claims to be the "first Decepticon" like the movie Fallen, however this claim is fairly dubious in the Aligned continuity where the closest connection he has to the movement is that Megatron originally took his name as a gladiator. Its more probable that he was lying to manipulate Steeljaw and the Pack.

* UnexplainedRecovery: The Covenant of Primus (a book written to be in-continuity with the Aligned Continuity) states that Liege Maximo is extremely dead. In fact, it was his arm that Megatron stole in order to use the Forge of Solus Prime back in Transformers Prime. Somehow, he's not only alive again, but also with the other Primes (despite his scheming being the cause of Solus Prime's murder, Megatronus' original exile and Onyx Prime's mortal wounding). Though could be HandWave as technically him living INSIDE the realm of the Primes (Which means no physical form but a spiritual one).

to:

* {{Jerkass}}: Par for the course with him. A tie-in book has him cruelly manipulate Bumblebee and using Optimus's form to hurt him.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Was this for his fellow Primes in the beginning, being the most manipulative and playing a role in Megatronus' fall.
Though could be HandWave as technically him living INSIDE by his spirit residing in the realm Realm of the Primes (Which means no after the death of his physical form but a spiritual one).much like Optimus.

Added DiffLines:

* CombatPragmatist: He has telekensis and he does use it in close quarters. This is part of why even Optimus can't beat him despite having the power granted by the Primes.

!!Megatronus
->'''Voiced by:''' Gil Gerard
->'''First Appearance:''' "Lockout"

* AllThereInTheManual: While a brief mention is made in the show about his involvement in Solus Prime's death, specific details on the incident itself can be found in ''The Covenant of Primus''.
* ArmCannon: He has [[DualWielding one on each arm]] that seem to fire Dark Energon blasts based on appearance.
* BadassBoast: Delivers one to Bumblebee after Optimus orders him to free the captive Autobots. Given his combat prowess, he'd most certainly be able to back it up.
--> '''Megatronus''': You can free a million Autobots. None will be able to stop me.
* BigBad: [[spoiler: Of the first season finale]].
* CompositeCharacter: Seems to be a combination of his ''[[ComicBook/TransformersGenerationOne Dreamwave]]'' and ''[[Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen RotF]]'' incarnations. He takes his alternate mode, apparent source for his powers (possibly Unicron) and his desire to commit chaos from ''Dreamwave''. Whereas from ''ROTF'' comes telekinesis, using a staff as weapon, a face that resembles the Decepticon logo and being referred to as the "First Decepticon", as well as desiring revenge upon Earth for some as-of-yet unrevealed reason.
* DarthVaderClone: Speaks with a booming voice, wears an intimidating mask, and uses telekinesis to discipline/intimidate his subordinates.
* EarthShatteringKaboom: [[spoiler:Aims to destroy both Earth and Cybertron in retaliation for his humiliation and imprisonment.]]
* ExactWords: While he did promise to let Steeljaw rule over Earth if he was freed, he neglected to mention what condition Earth would be in after he was done with it. Though the way he puts it, Steeljaw should have realised what he was planning all along and just let his own greed get in the way.
--> '''Megatronus''': I spoke only truth. You heard what you wanted to hear.
* FaceHeelTurn: His earlier ''Aligned'' appearance in ''The Covenant Of Primus'' had him become TheAtoner for his actions. As noted under CompositeCharacter, his characterisation here is closer to the OmnicidalManiac from Dreamwave and ''[=Revenge of the Fallen=]''.
* FauxAffablyEvil: [[spoiler: This part of his persona extends even to Steeljaw:]]
-->'''Steeljaw:''' [[spoiler:All I wanted was a place for Decepticons to call their own -- a place I could rule!]]\\
'''Megatronus:''' [[spoiler:[[DeadpanSnarker I'm very sorry for your loss]].]]
* FinalBoss: Of the first season.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler: He caused the ''Alchemor's'' crash and manipulates Steeljaw into carrying out his plans. Once he's freed from his imprisonment, he become the direct BigBad of the first season finale. Furthermore, he explains to Optimus during their fight that he has been granted power from a being more powerful than the Primes, hinting at the appearance of an even greater entity that could show up later in the series.]]
* JerkassGods: When Steeljaw attempts to challenge his demands, Megatronus forces Clampdown to start ''amputating his own claw at the wrist''. Steeljaw relenting to Megatronus is the only reason Clampdown did not become an autoamputee.
* KnightOfCerebus: Makes all the other Decepticons in the series look downright pathetic in comparison. He's thus far the only antagonist in the series to deliberately attempt an extinction-level event.
* LastVillainStand: [[spoiler:After Optimus thwarts his plan, he simply elects to take out all of the Autobots, firing everything in his arsenal against them.]]
* MindOverMatter: Possesses telekinesis strong enough to lift and throw Grimlock a considerable distance.
* MonsterProgenitor: He is the very first Decepticon, on the account that his infamous legacy was the primary inspiration for Megatron's Decepticons.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:Despite apparently being obliterated by the combined power of the Autobots' Decepticon hunters, it is strongly implied that he is still alive.]]
* OutsideContextProblem: He doesn't get a mention at all until his debut in ''Lockout'', 21 episodes into the series, where he reveals [[spoiler: that the crash of the ''Alchemor'' and the formation of Steeljaw's gang were part of his machinations.]] The Autobots don't even find out about him until ''Battlegrounds, Part 1'', the second last episode of the first season. Additionally, he's apparently the "First Decepticon" and sure enough when he appears he does have the logo on his chest, despite no prior apparent connection to the faction beyond Megatron naming himself after Megatronus before it was officially founded.
* SuperStrength: Among Transformers, his is considerable.
* TankGoodness: His alternate form is a massive one.
* ThisIsADrill: Can turn his hand into one.
* TooPowerfulToLive: [[spoiler:He's seemingly vaporized at the end of the first season finale.]]

[[spoiler: And then the ''Franchise/TransformersTimelines'' story, "Another Light" makes it so each of the thirteen, Vector included, is a separate entity from the others]].
* DemotedToExtra: So far, considering his original counterpart was a main character in [[Anime/TransformersCybertron the work he debuted in]].

* DeaderThanDead: Previous mentions of him in the Aligned Continuity mention that he was killed during a fight with the other Primes. He was torn to shreds and his head obliterated by a pointblank shot of the Requiem Blaster, Megatronus' personal weapon. His tomb even appears in Transformers Prime, though his name goes unsaid.
* UnexplainedRecovery: The Covenant of Primus (a book written to be in-continuity with the Aligned Continuity) states that Liege Maximo is extremely dead.
