* CatSmile: His jagged upper lip makes him have the appearance of one as well as an inverse version when frowning.

* ShoutOut: His colour scheme and smiley-face mask are reminiscent of Minecraft gamer LetsPlay/{{Dream}}'s avatar. He's also a reference to the normal pills in Dream's music video "Mask".

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: He was the oddball of his previous associated group, The Super Objects. While they have ElementalPowers based on their [[AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance appearance]], Cobalt has MindManipulation which doesn't correlate to him being an oxide of cobalt. Ironically, Cobalt is scientifically an element on the periodic table while the Super Objects aren't.

* AmbiguouslyGay: At one point, Computer didn't mind the idea of being kissed by a guy after Cigar [[spoiler:administered his signature KissOfDeath onto Shoe]]. Considering who Computer is, it's unknown whether he was joking or not.

* JerkassHasAPoint: He was right in saying Post-It should have used ConstructiveCriticism instead of straight-up dissing Tablet Pen's artwork because of [[BiasSteamroller his belief that traditional art is far superior to digital]].

* VocalEvolution: The way they talk is quite inconsistent and can vary from episode to episode. This is because Fusion has trouble coming up with a suitable voice for them considering [[TalkingToHimself he voice acts almost the entire TDOS cast]].

* BigBad: Of season 1, starting from the {{Cliffhanger}} of "The Invention of Deception".

* BadassBaritone: Has the lowest voice register of the cast across all seasons.

** However, The TDOS short "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2AwegVfw_g The Little Leprechaun of Seattle]]" implies that he and Skull may have been more than just friends before the events of season 2 but are now exes. Case in point, Skull blushes when Computer begs him to take the titular leprechaun home then the latter seriously considers starting a family with the former but was told not to push it.

* EyeScream: Spits lemon juice in people's face should they get on his nerves, temporarily blinding them.

* EasilyForgiven: [[JerkassRealization Realizing what they had done]], Post-It finally apologizes to Tablet Pen and Toast in "Lotion Seller, I Am Going To Battle". In spite of hurting the former's feelings by biasedly putting down his passion and kickstarting the events of season 5 from almost turning the latter into a full-fledged villain, both of them accept their apology rather quickly.

* PunchClockVillain: While the contestants themselves have varying degress of niceness, they were actually ordered by their boss to disguise as contestants so that they can get the Really Neutral Smelling Lotion.

* FlatCharacter: Literally and figuratively. She doesn't have as much screentime and talking time as the rest of the contestants, and thus, we don't know much about her personality.

* AmbiguousGender: Due to not being referred to by any pronouns in TDOS, it's unknown what gender Post-it is (Which explains the mass confusion in the comments). Most viewers headcanon them as a boy but some argue the opposite because of their slightly EffeminateVoice and the rest just use [[GenderNeutralWriting Gender-Neutral Pronouns]]. Not even their creators can agree with Fusion deciding they're a girl in a recent livestream while their recommender [[https://the-daily-object-show.fandom.com/wiki/Post-It?file=Post-it_is_Male.png confirmed they're non-binary]] in light of the viewers' ceaseless arguments on the subject matter.

* GrumpyBear: Box rarely smiles and talks, though the Tiny Tacos within are full of cheer, to say the least.
