* HollywoodVoodoo: While living on Earth, Phoenix became enthralled with the practice and myths of Voodoo and Witchcraft, eventually shaping his Dekn powers around it. Most notably, he teaches himself how to [[VoodooZombie reanimate the dead]] to [[NightOfTheLivingMooks fight on his behalf.]]

* RedBlackAndEvilAllOver: Subverted; while the artwork of his character depicts him with a fully red and black color scheme, Phoenix isn't evil.

* BackFromTheDead: He seemingly pulls this off twice:
** First, he becomes bound to Luke Anton's body, gets shot by Azrael, and gets sent to the Infernous -- where he dies of the injuries he acquired in his fight with Ellpagg. He somehow re-constitutes offscreen in time to meet Michael Knight in "Decision".
** During the [[FinalBattle Battle of the Arknza]], he is fatally wounded by Ellpagg -- and gets resurrected by Deebo (who is angered at losing his body suit/avatar).

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Don't let his goofy behavior put you off your guard for ''one second''.

* BreakTheHaughty: First, he's tricked and cornered by Azrael (disguised as Michael Knight), who taunts him for taking on forms that aren't his own, reminds him that the Hethe created him without genitalia, and fatally shoots and kills him, sending him back to The Infernous. Because he's converged with a human vessel, The Infernous fails to recognize him and registers him as a prisoner; he's tossed into the same "cell" as Knight, and loses control of the realm, which molds to his personal fears: being beaten, overthrown, and tortured by a corrupted, boastful, red-eyed version of Knight. As if that weren't bad enough, the ''real'' Knight then beats him for refusing to help him to escape or tell him what The Infernous showed him. Knight thoroughly defeats him, then mocks him in front of the entire [=Cloud9=] audience, telling them how "pathetic" and ineffective he is as a Dekn Lord. Then, he dies a slow, agonizing death from his injuries. Too bad the experience [[IgnoredEpiphany changes nothing]].

* BrownNote: His true form is hinted to be this. (It's later described as resembling a red, fleshy skeleton.)

** he settled down with an Arkn Nomad; the two were discovered, and his partner was executed -- a fate Phoenix barely avoided himself with the help of the Dekn Intoner, Zagabacht, who helped him avoid his sentence by going into exile.

A guild of four powerful Dekn Lords who control .Reality and Time. Displeased with the Arkn threat on humans (and the destruction of their secondary home, the Nexellium) they set themselves apart from the rest of Dekn-kind and the War, and (with Malek's assistance) created the Nexiumadris (a.k.a. .Reality). They regard themselves as a separate power: the saviors of Humanity, and the one true "good" faction.

* ArchEnemy: They are the collective arch-enemies of Azrael, and vice-verse (due to his position as the avatar of Time, which they see as their domain).

* DistinctionWithoutADifference: The Persophelums see themselves as a distinct faction, separate not only from the Arkn (who are selfish and sadistic) but the other Dekn (whom they see as [[JerkAss jerkasses]]). Aside from being the creators of .Reality and saviors of Humanity, however, there's little to differentiate them from the rest of their race: they collaborated with the Emperor of the Dekn (The Carver) to get the .Reality project off the ground, and they've been shown to be just as selfish, sadistic, and power-hungry as those they decry. To top it off, at least one member of their party (Crow) firmly believes that humanity should be ''[[KneelBeforeZod bowing]]'' before them.

The Third Emperor of the Dekn and Dekn Lord of Humanity and Reality, Redgrave is the son of Harbringer and the father of Ba'al. He is known for being the architect of the Nexiumandris, as well as Humanity's Infernous. An occasional partner to the Carver (during his reign as Emperor), he helped run the Infernous in the Carver's absence. He acted as a temporary (artificial) Guardian to Michael Knight, emerging after Michael began taking his pills.

* PerfectPacifistPeople: Downplayed; Dekn have no problem fighting and killing Arkn, but there is no crime, theft or infighting among their own people, and they generally refrain from causing harm to humans.

* PurelyAestheticGender: While Dekn have the same secondary sex characteristics as humans, they lack functioning sexual organs, and are incapable of biological reproduction (being born out

* TraumaCongaLine: While he's inhabiting Luke's vessel in .Reality, Azrael catches him by surprise and fatally shoots him (after taunting him). He winds up in The Infernous, where he discovers that (since he's bound to Luke's human form) the realm no longer recognizes him as its owner. The Infernous turns against him, subjecting him to his personal fears -- in the form of a [[OneWingedAngel red-eyed, ultra-powerful, corrupted version]] of Knight, who overpowers him and kicks his ass). Once ''that'' ends, the ''real'' Knight beats him to a pulp for refusing to talk about what happened or partner with him to escape (as his vision left him suspicious of Knight), and he slowly dies of his injuries. Yes, he [[DeathIsCheap gets better]], but it's still pretty rough.
