This unfortunately becomes {{Subverted}} in ''Rare Candy'', but then it becomes DoubleSubverted judging by how [[HealTheCutie he appears to be recovering]] in his subsequent appearances (''Wild Oranberries'' and ''Dr. Sylveon Discord Gaming'')]]

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler: She deeply regrets accidentally setting Chespin on fire, and therefore gets her fire removed.]]

* PerpetualFrowner: Despite his render added to Website/ThisVeryWiki, Bulbasaur is rarely seen smiling in the show (and non-canon media related to it), possibly due to his constant anxious demeanor. Here's a few examples below:

** In ''Wild Oranberries'', Tepig is EasilyForgiven by Chespin after the drone was broken. Later on, Chespin looks extremely happy while [[spoiler: playing with the now-fixed drone that was repaired by Turtwig. However, in TheStinger of that episode, Chespin says that he's "definitely been through worse", which implies the trauma he gained in ''Rare Candy'' is still weighing him down a little.]]

* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: [[spoiler: He develops this later on in ''Wild Oranberries'', which is just one more hint to him actually being a robot.]]

HairRaisingHare: {{Downplayed}}. Scorbunny isn't entirely malicious, but he wasn't hesitant to [[spoiler: put Turtwig in a boxing ring upon finding out the turtle's [[PintSizedPowerhouse power]].]]

* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler: He crosses this after Dr. Sylveon "[[DisneyDeath killed]]" Mudkip in ''Rare Candy''.]]

** In ''Dr. Sylveon Discord Gaming'', he appears to be very eager to play a video game with his friends. Chespin happily exclaims that "[[WebOriginal/TheBackrooms there's no furniture in his house]]" and that he's never heard of ''VideoGame/AmongUs'' before. This episode even has a reference to [[spoiler: Mudkip's DisneyDeath]], which does make Chespin very upset but doesn't exactly jab at his mental health, since he no longer has to deal with the thought of [[spoiler: Mudkip ''actually'' dying as Mudkip was revealed to be a cyborg in ''Wild Oranberries''.]] He later on cries in the corner of his room once he is removed from the game, which is PlayedForLaughs, and we're not sure if he is genuinely stressed or if he's just malding as a result of getting removed from the game. Either way, it's nice to know Chespin might be recovering after [[spoiler: everything he went through in ''Rare Candy''.]]

* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: He not only looks endearing, but is also one of the most friendliest and optimistic characters in the show. [[spoiler: Well, up until the events of ''Rare Candy'', that is.]] Thankfully, [[HealTheCutie he seems to be recovering]] as of ''Wild Oranberries'' and ''Dr. Sylveon Discord Gaming''.

Other than that, Fennekin's situation is ''very'' relatable to some.

* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Along with Totodile, Fennekin seems to be one of the only female starter Pokémon in the series.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Not physical, but in ''Ditto Disaster'', she is briefly mentioned by Chespin during the scene where [[spoiler: Bulbasaur is trying to ask the other Pokémon to try and thaw the frozen Tepig out.]] This caused a continuity error, as Chespin and Fennekin wouldn't meet until ''Typomaniac'', and thus WordOfGod labeled ''Ditto Disaster'' as non-canon in a collaberation video with Just Jargon.
