* VillainHasAPoint: For all that he's a piece of shit he is correct in pointing out that humanity has grievously mistreated Faunus. He also points out that Claudandus is being cowardly by refusing to tell Blake that he's her Grandfather.

* ShutUpHannibal: On the receiving end of one from Velvet, who points out that he's inflicting the exact same crimes that he and his family endured on Faunus who disagree with him, and that if anything his family would be absolutely disgusted with him if they could see what he'd become.

* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: The heroes who hear of his backstory do acknowledge how horrible his past was, but point out that it does not excuse his actions, since he's willing to commit the exact same crimes against other Faunus.
