A kindly cleric assigned to Amberglow from the Church of the Sacred Flame. She's good friends with Rinyuu and genuinely cares for her well-being considering her circumstances.

The supposed "Hero" of Amberglow, Tytos, is a cunning and ruthless man who desires power above all else. While praised by the Church of the Sacred Flame for his past service in the Knights Ardante, he still is embittered by his inability to destroy the rest of the Southern Tribes.

* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: [[spoiler:After he is killed, the Church of the Sacred Flame covers up his death by spreading the story that he sacrificed his life in order to fell Velnorte, the [[MaliciousSlander "true"]] mastermind of the events in Amberglow.]]

* WithUsOrAgainstUs: This is the central mindset that Tytos employs. If you aren't supporting him, you're an enemy to Amberglow and expendable. If you are supporting him, you best not make any mistakes or you're against him.

A former playwright whose wife was killed through Auguste's maniacal schemes. His vengeance for his wife's death motivates him to team up with the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] to end Auguste once and for all.

* BestServedCold: Schwartz has been trying to get revenge on Auguste for some time, but was unable to due to the latter's {{Cult Of Personality}}. Only when he allies with the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] is he able to realize his plots of revenge.

** [[spoiler:All of the above is tragically [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] since Schwartz never existed in the first place. In fact, Auguste made his persona's backstory so tragic so that the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] would sympathize with him.]]

* AxCrazy: [[spoiler:After finding out she could have saved both Auguste and Mikhail by giving Mikhail the antidote, Francesca snaps and rationalizes that the reason she didn't save her child was that he was dead to her. She then insanely fights the [[TheChosenOne Chosen]] and Schwartz and dies under the false belief that Mikhail was the cause of all her struggles, not Auguste.]]

A beloved playwright and actor whose plays are renowned across the world. While he is well-respected by other members of his field for the realism presented in his work, he's actually a [[TheSociopath sociopathic]] {{Serial Killer}} with a {{Cult Of Personality}} who derives pleasure and inspiration from the atrocities he commits.

* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler:Under the guise of Schwartz, Auguste planned out everything the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] encountered on their journey to kill him. The entire time, Auguste was in full control of the situations presented and only revealed his disguise once he attempted [[SuicideByCop the final act of his plan]].]]

* ManipulativeBastard: He is one to everybody. Not only has he formed his own {{Cult Of Personality}} that listens to his every word, but he also smothers people in his abundance of renown to get them to do as he says.

* VillainWithGoodPublicity: Auguste is known across Orsterra as a masterful playwright and in turn has incredible popularity. In fact, this was one of the main reasons why he was able to set up a {{Cult Of Personality}} in the first place.

* {{Patricide}}: She aids the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] in ending her father's reign to bring about a better future for Edolas.

Princess Erika's lifelong retainer who's educated her in practically everything she knows since childhood. While he's loyal to the princess, he realizes the fighting skill of the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] and becomes quick friends with them.

* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Eventually, Erika is captured by her father and is scheduled to be executed. Naturally, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] leaps to her rescue.]] [[spoiler:That said, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] actually fails and Erika is beheaded as a result.]]

* RebelliousPrincess: As princess of Edolas, she aids the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] in taking down her father so that the people of Edolas may live better lives without his presence.

* ShockAndSwitchEnding: [[spoiler:Initially, it may appear that Erika will be saved from execution by the Sovereign Assembly's ruling, yet they end up voting in favor of Pardis III. Then, it's all up to the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] to save the day and rescue the [[DamselInDistress damsel]].]] [[spoiler:However, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] actually fails to rescue Erika and she is subsequently beheaded in front of them by her father. The rest of the storyline then begins to revolve around Araune as she becomes the Queen of Edolas instead of Erika.]]
* YouBastard: [[spoiler:While still under the assumption that the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] murdered Mahrez, Erika outright states this to the player character before being told by Rembrandt that her father was the true killer.]]

* MyCountryRightOrWrong: Crauser is loyal to his country and fights for it despite knowing that not all of its actions are done with the best intentions. [[spoiler:Yet, he eventually softens and begins fighting for what he believes in rather than for his king as evidenced by his act of treason in letting Araune leave Edolas with the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]].]]

* EarlyBirdCameo: [[spoiler:Masquerading as Sanzantos, Gonska actually encounters the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] before the Master of All storyline even begins.]]

* {{Foil}}: To Shalal. The latter is much more outgoing than L's reserved attitude and the two often come to different outlooks on the same event. Granted, there are many similarities between the two as well. For one, [[spoiler:they're both [[KingIncognito actually royalty]] disguising themselves as traveling warriors]], they're both encountered by the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] after they help out somebody on their travels (a practice both of them share regularly), and they both share a mutual dislike for Pardis III in addition to being swordsmen.

A traveling swordsman who joins up with the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] in their journey after escaping Edolas. While he is easy-going and relatively calm, he seems to have an ulterior motive for fighting.

* TheChick: Considering the {{Five Man Band}} of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]], Levina being the only girl (assuming the Chosen One doesn't count) a part of it qualifies her for this classification.

* CameBackWrong: [[spoiler:While it may seem like Tiziano was somehow revived and turned into the persona of Oscar, Tiziano never died in the first place. In truth, Oscar merely escaped Herminia's mansion fire and laid in wait for the rest of the members of Hermina's [[TheMafia mafia]] to turn on one another as they vie to become {{The Don}}.]]

* SuicideAttack: Once defeated by the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]], she unleashes one of these attempting to kill everyone near her. [[spoiler:That said, she only manages to kill herself and Rembrandt due to the latter's {{Heroic Sacrifice}}]].

* CoolBoat: Is the by-proxy owner of several. In fact, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] fights her on her main ship (which is the biggest and largest).

* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: Queen Tatrock is a fearsome adversary to go up against in combat and actively sacrifices her own soldiers to boost her strength. In fact, [[spoiler:the first battle against her is a {{Hopeless Boss Fight}}]] due to this fact.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Before the Master of All storyline, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] meets with Sazantos to seal away the God Rings they've collected at the Isle of Orsa. Considering how the Bestower of Fame storyline is only available after completion of the Master of All storyline, you encounter him quite early on from his official appearance.

His ambition is so great that he ultimately wishes to [[TakeOverTheWorld conquer all of Orsterra]] so that he can prove that he is the most superior person in the world in terms of wealth, power, and glory.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Before the Master of All storyline, the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] meets with Sazantos to seal away the God Rings they've collected at the Isle of Orsa. Ceraphina, going by the alias of Phina, is the Bestower of Glory. While she initially was a faithful cleric to the Church of the Sacred Flames, she has since turned to worship Galdera and attempts to reawaken him so that he may wreak havoc upon Orsterra. Granted, her true feelings of wishing to help others are suppressed heavily by herself, but that doesn't stop her from running her own cult and manipulating others to obtain her desired results.

All along, Lyblac had been guiding Ceraphina along to her desired outcome by gaslighting Ceraphina into believing she could resurrect her father. In turn, Ceraphina created her own cult under Lyblac's influence and played right into the latter's hand.

* TheUnfettered: Oscar is dedicated entirely to seeing his idealized future of the rich being wiped out. As such, he begins his campaign by targetting other members of Herminia's former mafia before slowly stagging rebellions of his own.

* ContinuityNod: Archbishop Josef is Ophelia's adoptive father from the base game and is shown to still be the archbishop of the Flamesgrace Church in both games.
* EveryoneIsASuspect: He initially is introduced as a suspect for the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] to interview to deduce who the leader of the Black Scarlet is. Granted, for anyone who's played the base game, [[spoiler:they would know that he couldn't possibly be the culprit since he's Ophelia's father and is alive and well by the beginning of the original game.]]

* SirSwearsalot: Especially concerning sexual matters or money.

* SirSwearsalot: Taking after Tiziano, Pierro tends to have a dirty mouth in comparison to everybody else. Granted, he's not as sexually inappropriate as the former, but he still has a mouth on him.

* BerserkButton: Oscar has a [[HotBlooded firey dislike]] for money and all the atrocities caused by its acclimation. As such, he tends to get [[SirSwearsalot extremely verbose]] about how much of an evil it is.

The Bestower of All, Sazantos, is the [[BigBad true final antagonist]] of the game. The entire time, Sazantos was actually an agent of Galdera's and merely rose to power under the guise of worshipping the Church of the Sacred Flame. After stealing the God Rings, he sought out ambitious people who would corrupt the rings' power so that he could reawaken Galdera and remove the seal on the Gate of Finis.

* BigBad: All of the game's events are related in some way to Sazantos' actions of stealing the God Rings and giving them to others who he knew would use them for evil.
** He supplied Simeon and Ceraphina rings which were then gifted away (to Ceraphina herself and Tytos) causing the Master of Power and Bestower of Glory storylines.
** He caused Herminia to rise to prominence after obtaining her God Ring which in turn motivated Oscar to continue his massacres to end the disparity of wealth (in turn causing the Master of Wealth and Bestower of Wealth storylines).
** He aided both Tatrock and Pardis III in their schemes to conquer Orsterra by bestowing them rings and allowing them to accumulate power for their ambitions (causing the Master of All and Bestower of Power storylines).
** Finally, he supplied Auguste his God Ring after seeing his glory spread across the continent despite him being a psychopath. While this didn't directly cause the Master of Glory storyline to happen, it most certainly compelled it indirectly by causing Auguste to notice a fellow ringbearer (the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]]) and causing him to devise a plot to obtain stimulation.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Throughout the game, one might be wondering how all of the ring-bearers got their rings considering they were constantly being guarded over by Sazantos and others before being stolen. As it happens, Sazantos was the one to steal the rings in the first place meaning that nobody ever got past his guard. Also, he would naturally be the person who would have the greatest opportunity to steal them seeing as he is the head guardian of the rings.

The leader of the gang, the "[[TheMafia New Mafia]]", in Valore. Resolute in his quest to end Helminia's reign, he joins up with [[TheChosenOne the Chosen One]] in hopes of changing his hometown.

* TheFettered: Baljelo has a strong sense of morality (despite being in [[TheMafia the mafia]]) and acts predominantly upon his code of honor. Granted, he shows a strong protection instinct for other members of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]] which tends to override his views of events.
* KlingonPromotion: After bringing about Helminia's death, he assumes direct control over her reign of the [[TheMafia mafia of Valore]]. While many factions of her mafia break off to compete for Baljelo's control of the mafia, he's still able to hold his own.
* MeetTheNewBoss: [[AvertedTrope Averted]]; Baljelo actually takes efforts to improve the quality of life for Valore after he assumes control over Helminia's [[TheMafia mafia]]. In fact, one of the first things he does is disestablish her drug trading ring.

* RebelLeader: Is one trying to assert his dominance to oust Helminia from her reign.

The second-in-command to the [[TheMafia New Mafia]]. While a bit vulgar, he is loyal to Baljelo's cause and wants to see Helminia fall as much as his leader.

* HeroicSacrifice: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]; When the Chosen One fights [[spoiler:Sonia]], Teciano steps in front of an attack aimed at Baljelo. While it might seem he's sacrificing himself, he actually turns the dagger around on its wielder and stabs them instead.

* NumberTwo: He's Baljelo's right-hand man and seems to always be around to voice his input on matters.

The second in command to Helminia's [[TheMafia mafia]] empire in Valore. He employs and is as ambitious as Baljelo's gang to usurp Helminia's rule.

* AintTooProudToBeg: [[spoiler:When betrayed by Sonia, Taviani grovels and begs Helminia for his life to the point where he even starts clinging to her legs.]] [[spoiler:Yet, she spares no mercy.]]
* TheDon: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]; While one might think that Taviani is the mafia don, Helminia is his godmother and boss. The title he carries is simply a remnant from his former days as the don of the Valore mafia.
* DrivenByEnvy: Taviani's actions are mostly led by him seeking revenge for his fallen titleage. In fact, he doesn't really care about how Helminia's running Valore, just that he wants to rule it instead.

An old friend of Baljelo who's come under the employ of Don Taviani. She hates Helminia with a burning passion and teams up with the rest of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]] to bring her down.

* ChildhoodFriends: She knew Baljelo from the time when they were children whereupon the two of them would go on grape heists in Valore. To a lesser extent, she's also great friends with the rest of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]].
* GrapesOfLuxury: Back when Sonia's family still had money, her parents were farmers who owned a grape farm. Eventually, Helminia bought the land out from under them and left them all in destitution (subsequently causing her parents to die).
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]; Despite encountering her on the Master of Wealth storyline, Sonia makes it clear she's fighting against Helminia to avenge her parents' deaths, not for money.
** [[spoiler:In actuality, [[DoubleSubversion Sonia is only fighting for money]] after Helminia exposed her to a life of riches. In fact, she only wished to emulate Helminia's lifestyle after her parents died.]]

As such, Sonia ended up siding with Helminia and spied on Taviani for quite some time in order to further her own riches. This desire ultimately [[SuicideAttack gets her killed]] when defeated by Baljelo since she knows she no longer will be paid by Helminia due to her failure. As a result, she returns to dust after fearing she must live in the dust once more.]]

The leader of a rival family to the [[TheMafia New Mafia]] vying for control under Helminia's authority. While bull-headed and eager, he's loyal to an extent for bringing about change to Valore.

* TheBigGuy: He most certainly gives Hula a run for his money for being the [[TitleDrop Big Guy]] of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]]. Not only is he shown to take on the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] in combat, but he's also strong enough to be recognized for his strength instantly by Baljelo.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After fighting him to show that Baljelo's gang is stronger, he agrees to join with the [[TheMafia New Mafia]] and becomes one of Baljelo's subordinates. Admittedly, he does this out of fear for his life, but he ends up becoming quick friends with the rest of the [[TheMafia New Mafia]].

A former criminal that was imprisoned due his efforts of trying to create a potion to cure his love, Rinyu, from blindness. While he has since begun to work for Titus, he hates his new employer and only works for him out of fear for his and Rinyu's lives.

* TheAtoner: While not outright evil, Vernoldt deeply regrets his actions while working for Titus and deeply wishes for some way to seek atonement. [[spoiler:This later becomes [[AvertedTrope averted]] entirely when Vernoldt seeks vengeance on Titus by agreeing to expose the entire town to the Red Drug and [[DeathSeeker seeks retribution for himself only through death]].]]

Cerafina, going by the alias of Fina, is the Bestower of Glory. While she initially was a faithful cleric to the Church of the Sacred Flames, she has since turned to worship Galdera and attempts to reawaken him so that he may wreak havoc upon Orsterra. Granted, her true feelings of wishing to help others are suppressed heavily by herself, but that doesn't stop her from running her own cult and manipulating others to obtain her desired results.

* ManipulativeBastard: Not only was she able to evade detection as a cult leader for so long, but she also manipulated Titus into destabilizing the Church's authority in addition to leading attacks against the Church without being suspected. Furthermore, she was able to hide her plans from Rinyu the entire time so that she could use her as a [[HumanSacrifice sacrifice]] for Galdera.
* MeaningfulName: A seraph is the highest-ranking form of an angel in many Abrahamic religions (more so to Christianity). Cerafina in turn is a name resembling that of a seraph, and she transforms into an angel.

Secretly manipulating Cerafina from the shadows, Lyblac is the Bestower of Glory path's [[BigBad final boss]]. As cunning as she is ruthless, she faces off against [[TheChosenOne the Chosen One]] and has her plans of awakening her father be rendered unsuccessful.

* BigBad: She serves as the true final antagonist of the Bestower of Glory storyline and delivers an eventually-fatal blow to Cerafina moments before fighting [[TheChosenOne the Chosen One]].
* TheChessmaster: Lyblac was able to manipulate several events all at once by using Cerafina to further her own goals. In addition, she also utilized the actions of Simeon and Mattias which further play into the original game to awaken her father.

* ManipulativeBastard: If you thought Cerafina was the grand mastermind, think again. All along, Lyblac had been guiding Cerafina along to her desired outcome by gaslighting Cerafina into believing she could resurrect her father. In turn, Cerafina created her own cult under Lyblac's influence and played right into the latter's hand.

** He supplied Simeon and Cerafina rings which were then gifted away (to Cerafina herself and Titus) causing the Master of Power and Bestower of Glory storylines.
** He caused Helminia to rise to prominence after obtaining her God Ring which in turn motivated Oscar to continue his massacres to end the disparity of wealth (in turn causing the Master of Wealth and Bestower of Wealth storylines).

** Finally, he supplied Arguste his God Ring after seeing his glory spread across the continent despite him being a psychopath. While this didn't directly cause the Master of Glory storyline to happen, it most certainly compelled it indirectly by causing Arguste to notice a fellow ringbearer (the [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]]) and causing him to devise a plot to obtain stimulation.
