* DropTheHammer: Krusty can summon a huge maze to squish his opponents

* DropTheHammer: In one of her specials, Marge releases one from her hair and uses it to squash her opponents.

* DropTheHammer: Donald duck can summon a big one and hit the opponent three times or summon a small one which launches him forward.

* MemeticMutation: A RealLife version. In the first years was thought that Eric was a CreatorCameo of his creator, which Basara-kun confirmed later that he's an [[OriginalGeneration OC]] and not a MUGEN version of himself (as he did years later in a UsefulNotes/NeoGeoPocket version).

* UsefulNotes/SwitchToColor: This can be done thanks to palettes, which are darker colors, but colors anyway.

A monochromatic take on the Mortal Kombat ninja Chameleon, made in the style of the terrible, low-res ''[[VideoGame/MortalKombat3 Mortal Kombat Trilogy]]'' port for the handheld UsefulNotes/GameCom system by Tiger Electronics. He possesses the same janky physics and control layout faithfully replicated from the port, and holds the dubious distinction of being the only known M.U.G.E.N character to be converted from a Game.com game.

* UsefulNotes/SpanishDubbing: Almost all of his characters use the Latin American spanish dub, having the English voices mostly by SND patches made by other creators.

* ShapedLikeItself: She's a girl who practices kung fu…even though ''so'' many of her moves are otherwise. She's also a practitioner of yoga and another style named after the Greek letter "alpha".

Four crazy, over the top hard hitters conceptualized and sprited entirely from scratch by Italian artist and programmed Aiduzzi. Ella is a StringyHairedGhostGirl and homage to various horror films, while the other three are a bit more…hard to pin down. Ubu is an old man who shoots fire from his fingers, Kuando is a crazy loudmouth brawler, and Giano is another old man with very strange, unpredictable attack animations. ** Ubu is an arsonist obsessed with blowing things up. His style is sloppy and he is prone to losing his train of thought, sometimes even falling asleep while he is standing. However he is still a versatile fighter. He uses his hands as guns and that’s quite literal, as he can hit opponents either from close range with high explosive punches, or from long range with powerful cannon shots and bursts of “machine gun fire”.
** Ella’s mysterious origins are known only to Ubu. Her power is held inside the disturbing objects that she carries, most notably, her slimy, talking teddy bear known as ‘Trauma’. Her fighting style is unpredictable, as these objects will burst forth from where they are hidden inside her body. Most notable of these hidden objects is Trauma himself, who is also heavily armed.
** Giano is Ubu’s brother. Tortured by bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, he is prone to violent and unprovoked attacks, and is believed to be haunted by more than one-hundred entities. He looks old, but his punches are heavy. Giano's gameplay is focused on combos, and his moves involve launchers that devastate opponents, especially from close range.

AnIcePerson karateka who's in search of his dissapeared brother, Blizzard is the second character that comes from XXX's story, also using a Noise Factory sprite style, but this time is Reiji Oyama from ''[[VideoGame/PowerInstinct Matrimelee]]'', changing his palette, adding Soiree Meira's voice from ''[[Videogame/TheKingOfFighters KOF: Maximum Impact]]'' series and making him with the ElementalPowers of ice.

Five obscure characters originating in M.U.G.E.N as playable characters purely designed by Teaf: Shartel, Ferir, Rucheca, Grizela, and Harmir. They are not without haters but they are very much beloved: they are completely original creations of the author in virtually every way, boast clean and high resolution graphics except for one character in terms of sprites, and a decent amount of lovely fanservice; but, they're also furries — which are already despised by quite a few communities, said fanservice almost borderlines on NSFW in ways uncomfortable for some players[[spoiler: (with two characters officially having explicitly NSFW fanservice)]], and they are also notorious for being massively powerful characters in the hands of an expert(s) or with the A.I. at its most powerful. They all have a combo system superior to Dragon Claw's ([[MightyGlacier even Grizela]]), perfect guards that increase their energy gauge, critical hit capacity, and a 4-bar energy gauge completely separate from the 3 bar hyper gauge that is responsible for EX Special Moves, parry shields that create a window of intangibility after performing them, combo breaker bursts, combo cancels, and Fairy Fire assists. Said AI - while capable of being lowered, is also an absolute pain to deal with on higher difficulty settings. With all of this, they are all essentially to M.U.G.E.N as [[VideoGame/StarFox Fox McCloud]] is to Super Smash Bros. Melee since they're nowhere near easy to master and they are interesting and rewarding characters for doing so. Any personal information on them can be found on the Fanatail website and Teaf's other websites (but you should at least be able to understand or translate Japanese). A future candidate to join the other girls in M.U.G.E.N is currently known as "Lazlotte/Razurotte", the devil's daughter with mismatched eyes.

* ImpliedLoveInterest: She talks about her boss quite a bit, they're on her "likes list", and doesn't mind when they're the ones helping her get dressed, so…

* SturgeonsLaw: Warner served as FollowTheLeader for people who made other cartoon chars as well the ones from ''Rurouni Kenshin''. The quality of them are... debatable, to say the least.
** His own chars lacks of a refined gameplay, the reason why sometimes the remakes made by other people are [[CoveredUp usually better and more known]].

* ShoutOut: His Drive is directly taken from [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Taokaka]], he shoots out [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Joseph Joestar]] in his RISING GRANDPA special, he has [[VideoGame/ArtOfFighting Robert Garcia]]'s Genei Kyaku (the EX version is Chun-Li's Hoyoku-Sen) and the [[{{VideoGame/Breakers}} Maherl Bomb]] and in his A THUD A WHO super he can either fire a [[Franchise/StreetFighter Shinku Hadouken]], Ash Crimson's Thermidor, a [[VideoGame/FatalFury Kaiser Wave]], a multiplying plate of turkey from VideoGame/TattooAssassins, [[ComicBook/IronMan a Proton Cannon]] (Or a [[JustForPun Proton]] [[VisualNovel/{{Kanon}} Kanon]]), Omega Tiger Wood's head or The World, wherein he then performs Shadow DIO's "Punishment!" super.

* KidHero: Embarks on her adventure at the age of 16. This leads to...

* DoppelgangerAttack: XXX can summon [[CloningBlues shadow clones]] to attack the enemy for him.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Ironcommando himself considers the A-Bomb to be one, as its creation and eventual defeat played a part in instigating the "[[LensmanArmsRace cheapie wars]]" that led to increasingly-overpowered, file-edting characters, eventually culminating in the computer virus known as Mathrus.

* TheRival: Similar to his original counterpart, he is one to Ernie the Giant Chicken, and another one for [[Franchise/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]], both of those recreated in M.U.G.E.N. by Warner.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Warner's first few characters, particularly [[Franchise/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]], Evil Homer and [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Wario]], were spriteswaps of completely unrelated characters. His later characters are coded from scratch and are not spriteswaps.

The most iconic video game character of all time naturally made the jump to M.U.G.E.N fairly quickly. By far the most famous, definitive version of the moustachioed plumber was sprited by [=ShinRyoga=] and coded by [=NeOaNkH=] all the way back in 2001, and is still widely used, edited and beloved to this day. Sprited completely from scratch, this Mario has attack animations inspired by his ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' self but his gameplay is more ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom'' inspired, with long combos and aerial raves. Three of his alternate colour palettes function as specialised power-ups that change his abilities. Super Mario edits by other authors are so ridiculously abundant that it's not worth counting them all.

* ArchnemesisDad[=/=][[IHateYouVampireDad I Hate You, Mafia Dad]][=/=]AbusiveParents: Kazuya Kazeyama. He killed his mother and blamed Eiji for her death, lying that she died when she gave birth to him.
** OedipusComplex: This finally happens when Eiji heard a telephone conversation of Kazuya about his mother's death and finally knew the truth. Then face Kazuya, who were almost to kill him, but Eiji actived his hidden fire powers for first time. And he used properly [[KillItWithFire burning his father to the ashes]].

** Most notably seen between his first and second version, which made him less {{Gonk}} and with a black t-shirt below the MartialArtsUniform, being this version used for the next version for 1.0.

* MartialArtsUniform: He wears a pale white one, more similar to Karate than Kung Fu.

* BoobsOfSteel: She has the perfect bust size to showcase how goddamn hard she hits, and many sprites of hers have them jiggling like there's no tomorrow. Her ultimate technique also ''increases their size'', resulting in ClothingDamage. That said, [[BoobBasedGag it's funny to see whenever she has her]] WardrobeMalfunction moment.

** Also, Eric has a winning pose where he scares of seeing people from a side of the screen and escapes. These characters could be [[BoobsOfSteel beautiful fighting women]], [[BigBad a couple of bosses]] and even [[{{Mascot}} innocent mascots]]. All of them come from different games and [[TheCameo make cameos]] in different versions of the same winpose.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The ''Super Mic'' Hyper Move has Maxine scream into a microphone, emitting a sound blast from a giant speaker.

* BoobsOfSteel: Not as much as Grizela below her but she counts. She does have muscle unlike the dragon girl so this trope is not as prevalent.

* MsFanservice: Her general attire, Dragon Busters, and her Midnight Bliss outfit.[[spoiler: [[SerialEscalation She takes the trope up to ''twelve'' with her nude SFF and her other official art]].]]
** BoobsOfSteel: ''And how''. They are her primary source of fanservice most likely because of this trope, almost constantly in motion, and the {{muscles are meaningless}} trope is in full play and ''exaggerated'' as a result.[[spoiler: Under the effects of Midnight Bliss while fighting naked, they get to ''almost as big as her head'' as a result of not wearing clothes.]]

Yes, [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Donald, not Ronald]], in line with the JapaneseRanguage pronunciation. The clown mascot of [=McDonald's=] unexpectedly became an icon of M.U.G.E.N thanks to Kishio's artful conversion of the fast-food fiend into the fighting game engine. With some animations traced over sprites from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'' and ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureHeritageForTheFuture'', Donald was one of the earliest high-quality joke characters to grace M.U.G.E.N, quickly spawning countless cheap edits, some reasonably iconic in their own right. Some speculate that he may have spawned ''the'' most edits of any M.U.G.E.N character.

* SignatureStyle: On.Off also is famous for create other original-sprited characters like ''Lucy Fernandez'' (coded by Fervicante) and the resprite of Kain The Supreme's ''Franchise/LupinIII''. * DangerouslyCloseShave: He inflicts this to one prisoner of superjail before launching him to the sky. If jailbot wins the battle when this specific intro is finished, the prisoner returns and crashes upon touching the ground, killing him for good.
* GoodOldRobot: In one of Jailbot's win animations, he plays classical music on a old music box until Nova him overshadows him by playing techno music with lights, making Jailbot feel rejected.
* MirrorMatch: If Jailbot faces another Jailbot, a clip of Recap/SuperjailS2E1BestFriendsForever is played where the imnates of Superjail beats Jared after noticing the two jailbots on the screen.

* OminousVisualGlitch: As Jailbot takes damage, his face starts to glitch out
* SentryGun: He has one as a special hitting Jailbot opponents multiple times, and a taunt where he fake outs said attack.

* TransformingMecha: On his arcade hyper, Jailbot transforms into an arcade cabinet

* RubberMan: She's shown to be able to stretch her arms across long distances, resulting in the special move "[[WhipItGood Kung Fu Whip]]" and "[[RapidFireFisticuffs Kung Fu Beat]]". This is just ''one'' of the drastic differences between her and Kung Fu Man.

* AdaptationalBadass: The original Dancing Banana was a dancing animation that didn't even have any combat showings. In ''M.U.G.E.N.'', it has surprisingly dangerous combat capability despite still being silly.
