* IJustShotMarvinInTheFace: On the receiving end of this should you blast her with the Damaged Handgun as soon as you first acquire it. The ending you get for doing so makes sure to [[YouBastard rub in how horrible you are for doing so.]]

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: Unlike the other major enemies, the Mimic receives no notable characterization, foreshadowing, or lore, and merely attacks you in the mines. Cut content indicates it was originally meant to be tied to someone living in the mines suffering from paranoia, but this was dropped from the game.

* CantMoveWhileBeingWatched: His main gameplay mechanic. Unlike most other examples of this trope, he doesn't actually move directly when you're not looking at him, but rather teleports in a radius around you that gets closer and closer to you the longer he's not in your line of sight. This causes him to do things like suddenly appear ahead of you even though you left him behind in a previous room.

!MainCharacters

[[folder: The Player Character]]
An individual of unknown gender that suffers from severe claustrophobia. After their service dog falls into a broken storm drain, they venture into the sewers to try and rescue her.
-----
*AchillesHeel: Claustrophobia.
*BadassNormal: If you take the game as being entirely real, they go through multiple monsters, survive literal death TWICE thanks to gaining the favor of some higher power, and after defeating the Siren proceed to go on a rampage on their way out of the sewers. All this with just a flashlight, a knife, a sledgehammer, a damaged handgun and a shotgun.
*ScrewThisImOutOfHere: One ending has them take one look at the sewers and then turn around and leave.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dani]]
The player character’s service dog. Slips into a broken storm drain, prompting the player character to delve into the sewers to try and rescue her.
-----
*DamselInDistress: Her tumble into the sewers and subsequent rescue drives the plot of the game forward.
*UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: In the ending where Bayagototh is summoned; her slipping into the storm drain leads to the chain of events that trigger the end of the world.

[[/folder]]

!Monsters

[[folder: The Eyeless Hobo]]
A deranged, blind homeless man who attacks you with a knife near the end of the first area.
-----
*CrazyHomelessPerson: He was clearly on the brink before shit hit the fan. Being stalked by some unknown entity that demanded his eyes pushed him over the edge.
*EyeScream: Tore out his own eyes to get the “red thing” to leave him alone.
*GlassCannon: Hits just as hard as any other enemy, but goes down very fast.
*KnifeNut: His weapon of choice.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Ghost Girl]]
A woman who suffered from body image issues. After she got pregnant and her boyfriend broke up with her over how ‘ugly’ she was, she threw herself into an oncoming train’s path and haunts the station.
-----
*NonMaliciousMonster: Only attacks due to some mix of pain, anger and fear; she ends up saving the protagonist from an oncoming train later.
*TokenGoodTeammate: The only monster that isn’t actively malicious; her behavior is more akin to her lashing out in pain and fear.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Mimic]]
A strange, spider like monster that briefly pretends to be your dog.
-----

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sotiris]]
An eyeless monstrosity that was created to destroy the world, but was left incomplete.
-----
*EarlyBirdCameo: One possible example and one definitive example. The first one is the likelihood that he was the entity stalking the Hobo, considering that he seems to seek eyes. The second is him very briefly appearing in the mines before vanishing.
*EldritchAbomination: What he precisely is is unknown entirely.
*TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: His entire segment consists of him deliberately fucking with the game itself to mess with the player.
*MercyKill: What he would have done to everything, had he been completed.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Siren]]
A massive human-like creature that is encountered in the final area.
-----
*GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: It has literally zero buildup prior to the final area.
*FinalBoss: Essentially. There’s another gameplay segment after his death, but he’s the last real obstacle you face before you escape.
*ImplacableMan: Your weapons are utterly useless against him, requiring you to use the environment against him.
*NotQuiteDead: Makes a brief appearance in the escape sequence behind a grate, though it’s likely just a hallucination.
*PuzzleBoss: Notes in each segment of his area give clues as to how to defeat him.
*RasputinianDeath: Electrocuted, then swamped in water and washed away, and then finally crushed under a huge door.
