A German soldier during World War II, brought to the present. After being severely injured during a battle on the Russian front, he was airlifted out of the war and given to Dr. Hans Volter as a subject for his cryogenic tests. For decades he was frozen and forgotten, until he was accidentally released during the Zeds' rampage across Europe. He had the chance to kill Volter when he was first released, but did not- a decision he came to regret when he saw what he and the Zeds had done. He is a crossover bonus for owners of [[RedOrchestra Red Orchestra 2]].

* TurnsRed: Every time he drains a player he shifts to a new phase, gaining new attacks and enhancing his old ones (such as throwing more grenades). Unusually he can be killed without shifting phases, but this is a risky proposition as he gains massive damage resistance in draining mode and will fully regain health if he catches someone. Absent a highly coordinated team it's generally best to just let him catch someone rather than wasting the ammo. Phases are colour-coordinated and his final phase, after which he won't drain any more is, appropriately enough, red.

Hayato was a simple British-Japanese actor who had the bad luck. He ended up playing a lot of his roles as stereotypical yakuza types in French movies (along with playing a Japanese [=WW2=] soldier in the first game). Once the Zeds come knocking, it was pure luck that the guns were real. That and acting like whatever is going on is an action movie helps quite a lot!

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: When the outbreak started he lost a bit of his grip in reality and started to confuse his personality with that of some of the roles he had played. It mostly manifests as him seeming to think he's a samurai (or rather, the B-movie interpretation of a samurai). [[/folder]]
