* MarkOfTheSupernatural: Hikaranu's hair colour is an indication of his magical heritage--the blue hair gene is passed down through certain hemlan bloodlines that possess an affinity for learning magic. Most of the monk clans of the Opaline Mountains have blue hair; the eastern clans being the origin of the unique genetic trait.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Subverted with Veilkiir in that, while his initial actions are antagonistic against Laeka'Draeon and company, he quickly becomes a staunch ally; [[spoiler: helping to ensure Yarad is given clemency for his past crimes, as well as assisting Aena in securing an active war alliance between his kind and the other allied forces of Valadae. A hardened and stern member of the manorphis Warden Velds, and Prince Veilkiir's personal Warden. In this, he rarely leaves the prince's side, tailing him like a second shadow. To be a Warden is to be an object; a weapon, a shield, a protector of his assigned ward; in this, Hastklingr thrives, though his rigorous application of self-deprivation and complete dedication to his calling.

\n* TookALevelInKindness: [[spoiler: In choosing mercy over revenge in regards to Yarad, and having a HeelFaceTurn, temporarily joining Laeka'Draeon's group, where she gets to know them, defends them against cacodemons, and even saves Ghinzel from a boulder flung by Biekrel'Sorgh. The trope is less developed due to her being a supporting character in only one book]].

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Asa shares a lot of genetic traits with Shifra--having the same fur and hair colouration. It is implied that Shifra strongly resembles her mother, which would mean Asa does as well.

well.
* SupernaturalMartialArts: Implied that both brothers were taught Kutokii since Shifra knows that fighting style. Them being older, they are likely more proficient than their sister.

* FamilyHonor: The Inshurima Clan is one of the oldest and purest of the morwulf clans, and it's strongly implied that most of (if not all) the current living generations are sticklers for honour and tradition. Made clear in how [[spoiler: the heirs of Aunuen react to Aubrinanna declaring Laeka'Draeon will choose who among them will wield the Aunuen]]. Both Evarrn and Asa object, Evarrn most especially. And it's obvious he disapproves of Shifra's alliance with Laeka'Draeon, and says that her judgement is clouded by her ''"previous fraternising with a dragon"''.

!! Evarran and Asa

[[caption-width-right:350:The first son of Galenvra and Rolvenshin, stern and dedicated.]]

[[caption-width-right:350:The second son of Galenvra and Rolvenshin, soft-spoken and conventional.]]

The older siblings of [[{{Deuteragonist}} Shifra Inshurima]], Evarrn being the eldest and Asa the middle child. They are both proficient warriors and prestigious members of the old-blood Inshurima Clan--being direct descendants of the legendary Kiesha Velapphia, First Mother of Slayers. Evarrn followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a palace sentinel, while Asa trained to become an inner guard of the regiment assigned to the Seksai, Keeper of Secrets.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Both brothers call Shifra by an established nickname ''"Little Ra"''.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Both brothers are protective and admiring of their little sister, but Evarrn is far more forward about it; he outwardly declares it his ''duty'' to watch over Shifra.
* BadassFamily: Evarrn and Asa (as well as Shifra) are all proficient fighters (of both martial arts and weapon-wielding), having followed after their parent's warrior callings; Evarrn follows in his father's footsteps, as a royal sentinel; Asa is of the inner guard assigned to Aurbianna Mauveer (who is the third-highest ranking morwulf in K'tailiur). And Shifra, of course, began to train under her mother in the art of dragon-slaying (until the latter was taken by a [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds Rogue]]).

* FamilyHonor: The Inshurima Clan is one of the oldest and purest of the morwulf clans, and it's strongly implied that most of (if not all) the current living generations are sticklers for honour and tradition. And it's obvious he disapproves of Shifra's alliance with Laeka'Draeon, and says that her judgement is clouded by her ''"previous fraternising with a dragon"''.
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Evarran shows signs of having this type of intense disposition.

* PromotionToParent: It is implied that, after their mother was taken by a Rogue dragon (causing their father to lose himself in his work), Evarrn stepped up his brotherly duties, taking on more responsibility in looking after his younger siblings.

* SiblingYinYang: Downplayed but still noticeable in how they react during [[spoiler: the choosing of Aunuen's Heir]]. Evarran is outspoken and confrontational and physically makes his presence known and noted, while Asa remains reserved and unobtrusive (speaking his mind only after Shifra forces a reaction from him).
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Asa shares a lot of genetic traits with Shifra--having the same fur and hair colouration. It is implied that Shifra strongly resembles her mother, which would mean Asa does as well.

[[folder:Celetheal]]
!! Celetheal
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/framed_celetheal.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:She lingers in dreams and memories, the catalyst of a great and terrible choice.]]

Known as the Golden Song, and Daughter of Sunrise, Celetheal is a beautiful golden dragon with an uncommonly empathetic and curious nature (for a dragon). She is Aurnraulath's mate [[spoiler: (and Laeka'Draeon's mother) and her capture by [[BigBad Sadukravon]] and subsequent release (after Aurnraulath makes a treacherous blood exchange)]] is the catalyst for the dragons' sudden and mysterious disappearance and the slow failing of Klonnoth Aire.
----

* BeautyEqualsGoodness: She is a very beautiful dragon (her beauty also translating well in her hemlan-like form) and is compassionate and caring (to a fault).
* TheChooserOfTheOne: [[spoiler: While it is officially [[{{seers}} Aubrianna Mauveer]] who anoints Laeka'Draeon as the new [[MessianicArchetype Keiegn]], the choice was made and passed on to the morwulf seer by Celetheal herself]].
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: She has long golden hair and golden eyes (and golden scales when in her true form).
* DamselInDistress: Is lured into an ambush [[spoiler: by Sadukravon and captured. He then uses her as the incentive (threatening torture and death) for Aurnraulath to willingly surrender an orb of his blood]].

* GoodParents: [[spoiler: Once Laeka'Draeon is dubbed Keiegn and Fargo's ultimate message form triggers as a result, it is revealed that Celetheal is the creator of the Spirit Message, and has been using Fargo (her creation) to watch over Laeka'Draeon through his entire journey, aiding and protecting him wherever possible. It stands to reason that having to work through a magical conduit whilst also concentrating on keeping Klonnoth Aire's flow from destabilising would be extremely difficult and exhausting, and likely result in her not being able to make effective use of Fargo all of the time. Regardless, she did all she could to help her son, despite her situation, which shows deep love and devotion]].
* HeldGaze: She shares a poignant one with her mate, Aurnraulath, before [[spoiler: he sacrifices his body to use as an energy shield to ensure her escape through the corrupted barrier enclosed over Laranen'unok (the Sacred Lands)]].
* MissingMom: [[spoiler: She goes missing after the [[FinalBattle Second Gathering]], and in a conversation with Shifra Laeka'Draeon states that one of his future goals is to find out what happened to her]].
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: [[spoiler: It is Celetheal's compassion for the [[RacialRemnant hobgoblin remnant]], and her naive desire for comradery and companionship between the two kinds that ultimately leads to the dragons' downfall. Sadukravon exploits her empathetic nature by baiting her with a hobgoblin named Keetil, with whom she had developed a close bond. It is never explained how Sadukravon captured Keetil, but he certainly doesn't show her mercy; she is dead by the time Celetheal finds her. Celetheal is then used by the manitcor to exploit Aurnraulath's weakness]].

* RecurringDreams: Aurnraulath's memory of her being held against her will, and the subsequent blood exchange to see her safely released is something that triggers in Laeka'Draeon's mind in the form of dreams, more than once.
* SeeingThroughAnothersEyes: Celetheal utilises [[spoiler: Fargo as a physical lens through which she can watch Laeka’Draeon’s progression, and lend aid when she feels it necessary]].
* WideEyedIdealist: Her revealed actions and behaviour pre-Sod'minokul show her to be naive and optimistic, with a strong sense of compassion. [[spoiler: After learning about the hobgoblin remnant, she takes it upon herself to protect them, and secretly hides them away from the world (beneath the third tower of Klonnoth Aire), with the intent to free them and advocate on their behalf once the world was righted (likely after twenty-cycle time-length required for Klonnoth Aire's to fully power-up and purge the corruption from Valdae and the Black Mountains). Unfortunately, things did not end up going according to plan ...]]
* WillingChanneler: [[spoiler: Celetheal designed Fargo especially to accommodate her desire to scry through its form in order to witness Laeka’Draeon’s journey (and pre-empt when to temporarily take control of the Message and lend clandestine assistance)]].
