* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Outside of Ally and James, nobody on the Magenta Team seems to like him that much: Ashley and Jake are ambivalent towards him and Fiore has a very much mutual dislike towards him, and even Ally tends to lose her patience with him when his "win-at-all-costs" mentality becomes too much. [[spoiler:It gets to the point that even if voting out Fiore would be the smarter move strategically, her team votes HIM out instead in episode 5 simply because they can't stand him anymore]].

* DemotedToExtra: He's one of the major players of Season 2, with his LoveTriangle subplot with Ally and Tess taking a decent amount of screentime and Hunter himself [[spoiler:reaching 4th place]]. Come ''All-Stars'', [[spoiler: he's eliminated in 14th place, long before the merge, as a result of his own team growing exasperated of his challenge-focused mindset and animosity with Fiore]].

* MightMakesRight: He develops this mindset when he returns for ''All-Stars'', being heavily focused on winning the challenges as much as possible. While in theory this should make him a strong competitor, in practice it just makes him seem like a jerk who only cares about winning and nothing else, [[spoiler:which becomes part of the reason her team opts to vote him out instead of Fiore in episode 5 of ''All-Stars'']].

* DidNotGetTheGirl: After much romantic tension, [[spoiler:Hunter doesn't end up together with either Ally or Tess, instead choosing to remain friends with them]]. Averted after TimeSkip.

* BreakTheCutie: The first few episodes of ''All-Stars'' are not kind to him. After showing just how happy he and James are, the two wind up on different teams as a result of differently colored parachutes. Then, [[spoiler:after the Magenta Team loses the first challenge, James becomes not only their first casualty, but the first elimination of ''All-Stars'' overall]], something that devastates him when he learns about it the next day. Then, [[spoiler:the Cyan Team ends up losing the next challenge, and he's the one targeted for elimination by Ellie and the girls alliance. Lake tries to convince them to change the target to Tom, but this just leads ''Lake'' to be the one targeted and eliminated instead]], and unlike last time, Aiden's very much present to see the events play out. It's no wonder he's so downtrodden by the start of episode 4.

** During Season 2, [[spoiler:Aiden learns from Riya that James was originally dating him in a stunt to earn more followers, calling their entire relationship into question. While he foes call out Riya, claiming that he knows she's only doing this to throw him and James off their game, it takes James saving him from falling off a cliff and the two having a heart to heart about their relationship for Aiden to properly forgive him and the two to become a couple again]].

* MoralityPet: To James as he may manipulate Aiden but had not once schemed against or voted for him in the entire competition due to his crush on him. Eventually, James' love for Aiden changed him for the better to the point of their relationship becoming way more important than his followers by the time of the finale.

* OfficialCouple: While he and James [[spoiler:become a couple during the season, they have a brief falling out after Aiden learns he was initially being used by James to gain more followers. By the end of the finale, they're a couple again.]]

* DomesticAbuser: The trivia challenge reveals that he forced his ex-girlfriend to get plastic surgery, only to break up with her when the surgery went wrong.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Despite being a manipulative PoliticallyIncorrectVillain, Yul seems to care for his girlfriend Grett, as he threatens Miriam when she calls her a "human hemorrhoid". He also smiles when Grett tells her they "still look good together" and hugs him. However, it's later revealed he can be distant to her and has no issue smacking her hand.

* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Zig-zagged. He has no problem mocking Rosa Maria (a Latina) as unsurprisingly stereotypical for shoplifting to support her daughter but draws the line at making fun of the fact that one of his teammates had sex reassignment surgery. However, it's revealed in the first episode of ''All-Stars'' that Yul finds LGBTQIA+ people "disgusting". The following episode even implies he's ageist as he condescendingly calls Miriam (who's old) "granny" and proudly says she reminds him of an old lady he pushed down an escalator.

* VocalDissonance: Given her giant, muscular frame, you'd expect Maggy's voice to be tomboyish or at least exceptionally deep. Instead, her voice is about as gentle and sweet as Maggy herself.

* MortonsFork: Tess gets placed in quite the predicament during episode [[spoiler:3]] of ''All-Stars'': [[spoiler:The Cyan Team ends up losing the challenge, so they have to vote one person out. The boys are targeted, with Lake suggesting Tom while Ellie suggests Aiden. Then, Ellie puts everyone in a rock and hard place by revealing the girls alliance and Lake's intention to vote out them, meaning at this point Tess either follows along with Ellie's plan and votes for Lake or Tom, or betrays Ellie and votes for her... Which risks a tiebreaker between Ellie and Lake that she could potentially win. Tess ultimately votes for Tom, sticking with Lake's side]].

* DidntThinkThingsThrough: During episode [[spoiler:3]] of ''All-Stars'', [[spoiler:Lake attempts to prevent Aiden from being voted out because someone in the Cyan Team needs to go since they lost the challenge. However, instead of joining up with Tom and Aiden and try to convince them to vote someone else out or at least make a tie, she goes to the girls alliance and tries to convince them to vote out ''Tom'', arguably the strongest member of the team at the moment. This, alongside her refusal to listen to Ellie, is what ultimately seals her elimination at the end of the episode]].

* ArrangedMarriage: Her parents arranged for her to marry a guy when she gets old enough to do so. Lake herself doesn't know anything about the guy, other than he comes from a prosperous family, but she's willing to go through with it because she thinks it's what's best for her.

* CharacterDevelopment: As noted by herself, with her friends' support, [[spoiler:she went from doing anything her parents wanted to being in control of her own decisions]].

* HonoraryAunt: Despite not being her aunt, Sofia refers to her a "Auntie Lake".

* TheArtifact: Ally's label as "The Gamer Girl" made sense at the start because she was, well, a gamer girl who played games when she wasn't in the middle of a challenge, and in the Awake-A-Thon, even ''during'' the challenge. After Kristal's order for Ally to burn her consoles during the Queen's challenge and Hunter revealing he saved one of her consoles, Ally's status as a gamer hardly comes into play for the rest of the season. It's even more irrelevant come ''All-Stars'', since the fact that the contestants can't bring electronic devices means she can't even play games anymore.

* AscendedFanboy: Aiden had watched all of ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' and previously auditioned for the first season of ''Disventure Camp'' but was passed up for being "uninteresting". Luckily, he got his chance next season and went far as a contestant on there.

* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:While she originally looks frusturated when she's eliminated in ''All-Stars'' and seems angry at Ellie for causing it, she otherwise takes it well. She also doesn't seem to hold ill will against any other contestants]].

* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: A rare gender-inverted example with Yul wearing a flaming crop top that exposes his stomach, adding to his CampStraight appearance. In ''All-Stars'', he lampshades the part about wearing a crop top.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Despite being a manipulative PoliticallyIncorrectVillain, Yul seems to care for his girlfriend Grett, as he threatens Miriam when she calls her a "human hemorrhoid". He also smiles when Grett tells her they "still look good together" and hugs him.
