* LiteralCliffhanger: Subjected to one in the finale where Riya [[FlawExploitation exploits]] Aiden's [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes crippling]] [[PrimalFear acrophobia]] by making him back away to the edge of a crazy-steep cliff until he fell off. Aiden precariously hanging on for dear life with only his hand stopping him from a thousand-feet vertical drop acts as the segway between the two parts but luckily, James manages to catch him just before he loses his grip.

* ObliviousToLove: Due to some trust issues at the start, Aiden wasn't aware of James' huge crush on him until Lake spelled it out in "Not As Easy As It Seems" halfway through the season. This should have been obvious in hindsight with moments like James being way too eager to kiss him for the kissing challenge, betraying Yul the moment he learned about the poisoning scheme and cuddling Aiden while asleep. After the reveal, Aiden decided to give James another shot and become friends once again.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: {{Downplayed}} with Karol as while they weren't exceptionally close friends, she considered him to be the only person in the entire camp she didn't actively dislike in addition to her [[BetterWithNonHumanCompany animal companions]]. That all changed after James caused Karol's elimination by exposing her plans in voting off one of the girls on their team, something she told Aiden in private. Even though Aiden was unaware of this and tried apologising, Karol took it personally regardless and targeted both him and James as her prime {{Arch Enem|y}}ies for the rest of the season.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: As Hunter pointed out in "Sabotage Below Zero", Ally's insistence to pull him on the sled instead of the other way around would certainly not help their chances of winning the challenge and immunity, especially when their alliance has been targeted for elimination since the start of the merge. Next, she tried reaching out to Riya to vote for her BestFriend Rosa Maria rather than James whom she had previously voted for before. As a result, both of these decisions directly caused her elimination in the same episode.

* TheNotLoveInterest: In spite of her initial ShipTease and great chemistry with Hunter, she ultimately doesn't become his girlfriend after her romantic feelings for him faded out over time and remained platonic TrueCompanions.

* ShipTease: With Hunter from "Open Your Eyes" but it ultimately never goes anywhere since they are BetterAsFriends.

* WhatTheHellHero: Ally rightly calls out Hunter for [[ATragedyOfImpulsiveness impulsively kissing her]] just as she was about to leave on the bus in "Sabotage Below Zero". This is especially since (a) he personally requested to save the LoveTriangle after the competition is over (b) by that point her and Tess' crushes on Hunter had faded away to a solid but platonic friendship and (c) it wasn't fair for Tess since her elimination two episodes ago meant she can't have any input on the matter.

* CharacterDevelopment: He has a short yet sweet arc from trying and failing hard to fit in with the younger crowd to appreciating his age more thanks to Riya's encouragement.

* NonGameplayElimination: Immediately after Kai was voted off by Yul's alliance, Kristal declares a double elimination for the sake of drama and tension. However, this was foiled when Connor quits of his own volition so Riya won't be a target for the alliance.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: Connor gets eliminated really early on but his presence on the show has not been forgotten by the others:

* BornLucky: Post-merge, Hunter manages to win individual immunity ''four times in a row'' for [[PlotArmor one contrived reason or another]]:

* KneeFoldFallOfDefeat: Collapses to the floor this way at the sight of Ally's "bloodied corpse" in "Nightmare in Tipiskaw".

* ArchEnemy: To Karol after throwing her under the bus and causing her elimination. His actions also unintentionally cause Aiden to be viewed as such by her.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He may stoop low to do whatever it takes to win but draws the line at physically harming the contestants. This is what causes him to betray Yul when he doesn't uphold the same morals as him.

* PlotArmor: Not to the extent of [[BornLucky Hunter]] but when Karol briefly rejoined the show, she had the opportunity to get rid of him once and for all given he was usually a target for elimination. However, she wasted her chance to be the deciding vote for James in "Nightmare in Tipiskaw" by voting for Lake instead so as to gain his and Aiden's trust and then was conveniently [[NonGameplayElimination medically evacuated for a broken leg]] in "Sabotage Below Zero". Karol additionally spends the entire latter episode convincing Riya (and by extension her ally, Rosa Maria) to join her vendetta against James and Aiden but they ended up voting for Ally in the elimination ceremony.

* TheBusCameBack: Instead of getting on the bus, Kai roughs it out in the forest to be one with nature which allowed him to appear in future episodes such as offering a recently-eliminated Maggy to join him and giving Oliver cryptic advice upon coming across them.

* NiceGuy: One of if not the nicest contestants of the season as a pacifistic, NewAgeRetroHippie who is polite and well-mannered toward everyone... [[JerkassToOne except Yul]].

* TimePassageBeard: Heavily exaggerated as it only took him three episodes to grow an impressively long and scruffy-looking one while living in the forest. He also outgrew his hair to a similar length by the time of the finale.

* TheBusCameBack: She unexpectedly rejoins the game midway as made a deal with the producers to dress up as the Night Butcher and "hunt" down the remaining contestants for the challenge in exchange.

* HiddenDepths: She may seem like the stereotypical [[TheKaren Karen]] but has shown a [[AnimalLover soft spot for animals]], being able to [[TheBeastmaster tame]] the most dangerous and deadly of which in contrast to her immense dislike for people. Her stint as The Night Butcher also displays her [[StrongerThanTheyLook athletism]] and [[StealthHiBye stealthiness]] up front, enough to easily take down the remaining cast more than half her age.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: If she hadn't convinced Aiden to keep the spider he found in "Sabotage Below Zero", he wouldn't have used it on her partner Oliver for the challenge who promptly freaked out, crashed Karol's sled and directly lead to her [[NonGameplayElimination elimination]] in the same episode by means of a [[GameBreakingInjury broken leg]].

* ItsPersonal: Her grudge against Aiden and James stems from the latter revealing to the girls her intention on voting one of them which she told the former in private, directly causing her elimination she's immensely bitter about. This carries over after returning and gained even more reasons to hate the two when she is not only eliminated again because of them but also accidentally killed the spider she gave to Aiden because he used it to sabotaged her. It cultivates in Karol glady taking up a cannon to prevent James from crossing the finish line in the finale.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: She only rejoined the game for one episode but was the one responsible for [[TheCorrupter setting up]] [[FaceHeelTurn Riya]] as the TrueFinalBoss.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Double-subverted. After competing for only two episodes, Karol was admitted back midway into the game which allowed her to gain a more [[BitchInSheepsClothing fleshed-out personality]] and [[TheCorrupter plot relevance]]... right before she's eliminated the very next episode via a [[NonGameplayElimination medical evacuation]].

* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She ends up the last female member on the Orange Team after Rosa Maria switches to the Green Team and Maggy's elimination in the same episode.

* TheLoad: His [[HeroicBSOD panic attacks]] is a huge hindrance to his team and challenge performance which is why he was eliminated first. The [[HyperCompetentSidekick opposite]] is true when working as an intern, however.

* TemptingFate: Oliver's first confessional is dripping with {{Irony}} after he became the first eliminated in the season:

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Averted as while he's eliminated in the very first episode, Oliver manages to stay on as an intern which allows for his characterisation and relationship with the host to develop. According to the writers, they didn't want to leave Oliver as a disposable character like [[Characters/DisventureCampSeasonOneContestants Dan]] was in the original season.

* TrueFinalBoss: As there are no more contestants left who can be considered as one,[[note]] [[TheBully Yul]] is a DiscOneFinalBoss, [[AntiVillain James]] is more [[TheStrategist strategic]] than anything and [[PreFinalBoss Karol]] [[NonGameplayElimination just got out]][[/note]] it was up to Riya to [[FaceHeelTurn step up]] and become the final antagonist for the last few episodes after [[OutOfFocus not having any plot relevance]] up until that point.
* VillainHasAPoint: When James called out on Riya for stooping so low in the last few episodes to win the million, she retorts back that he isn't any better with all the stunts he pulled since the very beginning:

* WorfEffect: With only a single vote and a stolen immunity totem, Riya did what no one could have ever done post-merge: eliminate [[BornLucky Hunter]] who had been riding on his PlotArmour the whole time. With him gone, Riya has established herself as the TrueFinalBoss and it's now anyone's game in the finale.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Feeling threatened by Aiden and Lake who believes they will vote him off, Yul plans on [[TamperingWithFoodAndDrink slipping poisonous mushrooms into the former's food]] to force a NonGameplayElimination and save his own skin. A solid scheme that probably would have worked if he hadn't ordered James to poison Aiden (The guy he has a growing crush on) over Lake (Someone he barely knew), or better yet secretly do the dirty work himself, which caused James to double-cross Yul and poison ''him'' instead.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: His devious attitude and schemes would make him a contender as the season's main antagonist but he's merely [[StarterVillain the first]] [[TheBigBadShuffle of which]] after being eliminated and medically evacuated in the fifth episode as the last pre-merger boot.

* HateSink: Yul is a plain ol' one-dimensional [[TheBully bully]] with zero redeeming qualities. In the first episode alone, he calls Maggy an "Ogre" without prompt and proudly proclaims how he [[ElderAbuse pushed a grandma down a mall escalator]] ForTheEvulz. It's no wonder why nobody missed him once he was eliminated.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His plan to poison Aiden in order to have him [[NonGameplayElimination medically evacuated]] backfires horribly when he made James carry out the misdeed, only for him to change targets and poisons ''Yul'' instead.

* LaserGuidedKarma: After bullying her throughout the competition for his own amusement follow by eliminating her in "Truth Hurts", Maggy snaps and sucker-punches Yul in the face and left him a nasty black eye. The next episode has James, the only person who was willing to be his ally, giving him severe food poisoning that directly lead to his elimination upon learning Yul's plan to do the same to [[MoralityPet Aiden]].

* NonGameplayElimination: Tried invoking the trope on Aiden by means of [[TamperingWithFoodAndDrink food-poisoning]] in "You Are A Monster!" but ended up the one needing a one-way trip to the hospital instead thanks to James. He would have been eliminated either way as everyone on his team had voted against him.
* PetTheDog: Zig-zagged. Despite not liking Aiden, if his failed attempt at poisoning him was any indication, he still supported him in the finale only because he hates James and Riya more for personally wronging him. However, Yul smiles as opposed to everyone's shocked reactions when Aiden is [[LiteralCliffhanger dangling over the cliff]], meaning he doesn't mind if Aiden falls to his death.

* PrecisionFStrike: For all of his insulting remarks, Yul never swore until the finale where he delivers one to James for double-crossing and eliminating him way back in "You Are A Monster!".

* UndignifiedDeath: An elimination example as while Yul didn't die, he was close to it when he unwittingly ingested the mushrooms meant to poison Aiden. This ended in him [[VomitIndiscretionShot throwing up]] multiple times before collapsing on the floor in his own vomit with Kristal mentioning he would have been eliminated normally anyway to add insult to injury. The others who were unaware of what actually happened called him [[TooDumbToLive incredibly stupid for eating wild mushrooms in the forest]].

* TheLoad: He's this as a result of his panic attacks, [[spoiler:which gets him eliminated first]]. Averted when [[spoiler:working as an intern]], which he's shown to be good at.

* LaserGuidedKarma: Gets [[spoiler:betrayed by James and poisoned instead of Aiden, whom he had planned to have poisoned by James and eliminated instead]].

* OutOfFocus: After both Ally and Tess were eliminated, Hunter has nobody to bounce off of, especially when he had barely interacted with the rest of the final five until the last few episodes[[note]]Having a brief friendship with Rosa in "Popping Trust", directly talking to James and Riya for the first time in the following episode and never speaking to Aiden even once[[/note]], and was sidelined in the penultimate episode in favour of the drama Riya caused when breaking up Aiden and James' relationship.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her name can be spelled as "Rosa Maria" or "Rosa Mar'''í'''a" and pronounced either way.

* SatelliteCharacter: While Rosa Maria plays a [[LivingEmotionalCrutch major supporting role]] in her friends' story arcs, she rarely gets the chance to take the spotlight for herself. The most she was ever focused on is in her [[ADeathInTheLimelight elimination episode]] and even so, Rosa is still looking out for others like usual.

* ADeathInTheLimelight: After spending most of the season OutOfFocus, Rosa finally has her time to shine in "Popping Trust"... in the same episode she's eliminated in.

* OutOfFocus: After both Ally and Tess were eliminated, Hunter has nobody to bounce off of, especially when he had barely interacted with the rest of the final five until the last few episodes[[note]]Having a brief friendship with Rosa in "Popping Trust", directly talking to James and Riya for the first time in the following episode and never speaking to Aiden even once[[/note]], and was sidelined in the penultimate episode in favour of the drama of Riya breaking up Aiden and James' relationship.

In an attempt to subvert this, the writers had to suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere flip her entire personality so the finale would have one last major antagonist.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: It's implied Yul has one since the trivia challenge reveals he and his family were [[UsefulNotes/NorthKorea North Korean]] refugees but that [[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse doesn't excuse his horrible behavior and actions]] now.

* IconicItem: His smartphone which he frequently uses as an influencer to update his followers on [=TikTok=] and take selfies with Aiden. This also ends up becoming important to the plot for the later episodes as a StoryBreakerPower and [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard his downfall]].

* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: If she hadn't convinced Aiden to keep the spider he found in "Sabotage Below Zero", he wouldn't have used it on her partner Oliver for the challenge who promptly freaked out, crashed Karol's sled and directly lead to her [[NonGameplayElimination elimination]] in the same episode by means of a [[GameBreakingInjury broken leg]].

** While James was initially more receptive to him, their alliance becomes incredibly short-lived once Yul resorts to borderline life-threatening tactics, namely [[TamperingWithFoodAndDrink poisoning]] Aiden in order to [[NonGameplayElimination send him to the hospital]]. This was more than enough for James to [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard enact the plan on Yul himself]] without remorse.

* ArchEnemy: After being dragged into [[spoiler:betraying Karol]] by James, he's this to her.
* CampGay: Downplayed. Not too stereotypically camp. See InTouchWithHisFeminineSide for a list of his slightly flamboyant traits.
* FirstKiss: As revealed in the trivia challenge, Aiden had his first kiss during the kissing challenge.

* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: Not the most athletic player (although also not TheLoad), lacks aggression unless really mad at someone for betraying him, has an open and emotional personality which helps him to bond with Lake and makes him a {{Foil}} to James, and is quite [[VanityIsFeminine fashionable as an e-boy]]. He's also shown to be gay.

* NotSoDifferentRemark: [[spoiler:Episode 9]] has him realize that if push comes to shove, he's not so different from James.

Instead of deciding everyone lost since Hunter lost his partner along the way and accidentally took off his blindfold, Kristal ignores those points and decides that he won for being the only one to cross the finish line.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: Has an entirely black and gray color palette and wears a skull-shaped necklace, which doubled with his pale skin and eye bags makes him look quite grim and dreadful, but he's one of the calmest and nicest contestants.

* TallDarkAndHandsome: One of the tallest characters, has dark skin, eye, and hair color, and is one of the most good-looking characters on the show.

* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler:Instead of getting on a bus, Kai left in the forest. This allowed him to appear again in Maggy's elimination episode and Episode 6 upon Oliver coming across them.]]

* TimePassageBeard: Exageratted since it only took him [[spoiler:three episodes]] to grow one as well as justified since he grew it while [[spoiler:living in the forest]]. Happens to his hair as well by the time of the finale.

* ButchLesbian: She was [[WordOfGay officially confirmed]] to be a lesbian during the Pride Month 2023 announcement of the show's creators. This is unsurprisingly, however, given her short temper and how she rudely behaved to many of her fellow contestants in ways not commonly associated with a feminine woman.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: [[spoiler:Instead of being the deciding vote against James in Episode 8, she decides to vote for Lake, seemingly so that her act of having forgiven [[PortmanteauCoupleName Jaiden]] appears genuine. However, by the time of the next episode she breaks the act anyway, meaning she's just failed a perfect chance to exact her revenge. This also means that as a result of her NonGameplayElimination in the following episode, she failed to get revenge on neither James nor Aiden.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: [[spoiler:She can be seen surprised to see Aiden hanging off a cliff and probably dying, unlike Yul, who [[LackOfEmpathy looks content]] with Aiden's predicament. She may hate the E-Boy, but she does not want him dead]].

* TokenAdult: She is one of a few characters who aren't around the age of teenagers, and given how Connor and Riya were in the Green Team, Karol was the sole adult in the Orange Team.

* OlderThanHeLooks: He has an appearance of a TinySchoolboy, which could mislead you to believe he's 16 (in fact, his appearance makes him look even younger than that), much like contestants upon their debut on ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama]]''. However, not only does his character bio included under this section mention that he had already finished high school, it also says he worked for Chris at the time, and with the time gap between ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama]]'''s seasons and this show, he should be likely somewhere in his 20s.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Averted. [[spoiler:While he's eliminated first in the very first episode, he gets to stay as an intern, allowing him and his relationship with the host to be fleshed out more]].

* FormerTeenRebel: Several throwaway lines imply that she was one before she became pregnant, such as being used to people calling her a bad influence on their children and knowing how to hotwire a car.

** In fact, he also made a mistake in ordering James to carry out his plan rather than doing it himself. He can't control others' actions so by ordering someone else to carry out his plans, there's always a chance they'd refuse to do it. In fact, while he was in an alliance with James, this placed quite a lot of trust in him, as James could always reveal Yul's intentions to others. If Yul had [[spoiler:poisoned Aiden]] himself in secret even from James, he'd likely never be found out and his alliance would've continued.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Overlapping with StarterVillain. He's the first main antagonist of the season and is [[spoiler:eliminated in Episode 5, becoming the last pre-merge boot]].
* EveryoneHasStandards: When Kristal asks which of them underwent a sex change, Yul doesn't say anything offensive and looks as concerned as his teammates. That or maybe he just knows that if he acts transphobically in front of the cameras, he is gonna earn a lot of hatred online, especially as his reputation is in danger following his escalator incident.

Karol is a bossy woman with a large amount of character. She doesn't mind saying what she thinks, and perfectly fits the archetype of a '' Karen ''. Despite her unstable relationships with people, Karol gets along quite well with animals, and she even owns a shelter that rescues exotic animals in danger.
