* MinionWithAnFInEvil / TokenGoodTeammate: His brothers certainly view him as the former trope. Even before his HeelRealization, he's less malicious than Ichi/Eldest Brother and Ni/Elder Brother, he's genuinely inquisitive, and he's not really invested in his brothers' [[OmnicidalManiac Omnicidal Mania]] after being separated from them. However, he remains brutal when fighting or when provoked too far, and he's a competent sentry head.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Upon his HeelRealization, he comes to deeply regret what he and his brothers have done to Vivienne. He apparently still carries remorse after Vivienne has forgiven him.
* MyGreatestFailure: He at times shoots glares or gets angry when someone brings up his past as part of Ghidorah against him, but he seems to regret the psychological harm he's caused Vivienne most of all.
* NearDeathExperience: {{Implied}}. Besides the one he shares with Vivienne, in Chapter 16, [[spoiler:it's suggested he has one after his head is ripped off and almost SwallowedWhole before his head gets an electrical jolt]].
* TheNothingAfterDeath: He apparently saw this between Vivienne's first death and her revival inside Ghidorah when viewing her memories (suggesting she had a CessationOfExistence), and he becomes terrified of entering the Nothing if he and Vivienne die permanently.
* NotQuiteDead: After his original head is ripped off of Ghidorah by Godzilla, it remains partially alive, retaining San's mind and pre-decapitation memories.

* ParentalAbandonment: San has never had parents before, and though he's not at all bothered by his biological sire having no role in his and his brothers' maturation, as his CharacterDevelopment progresses he comes to crave the experience of having a mother figure like his sister had in her upbringing.
* PowerEchoes: His voice is described as sounding echoic when he communicates with Vivienne telepathically, and his ComicBookFantasyCasting voice probably helps.
* PsychicBlockDefense: He attempts performing this multiple times to keep [[spoiler:Ghidorah's voices]] out of his and Vivienne's heads.
* PsychopathicManchild: {{Downplayed}} after he fuses with Vivienne and undergoes CharacterDevelopment, but besides his {{Manchild}} quirks, he's more nonchalant than her about attacking and killing when provoked. Before fusing with her, San seemed to regard Vivienne the way a child regards their favorite doll or teddy-bear.
