not really a mindscrew or artistic license, the film is fictional

* The Knight Family training school is treated as a welcoming environment with Julia acting like a TeamMom. In real life it was known in the Britwres scene as an overly rough school even before Jetta and Charlie Morgan accused them of physical and homophobic abuse in 2020.
* And of course the biggest Mind Screwy one - the film is based on a documentary. So at a lot of the events the film depicts, there was a camera crew following the Knights around.

* At Wrestling/WrestleMania XXX, Wrestling/AJLee is seen submitting a blonde woman to retain the Diva's Championship. In the actual event, she submitted the African-American Wrestling/Naomi. Since the actual match was a multi-opponent match that did include three blondes (Wrestling/NatalyaNeidhart, Emma, and Wrestling/SummerRae), it's unclear if this is a case of RaceLift or the movie swapped Naomi with one of the three mentioned.

* Hutch mentioned he fought The Rock inside Wrestling/HellInACell. The Rock only competed inside the structure once in his career (during Wrestling/ArmageddonWrestling 2000), and it was against Wrestling/KurtAngle, Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin, Wrestling/TheUndertaker, Wrestling/TripleH, and Wrestling/Rikishi.

* Saraya goes by the ring name Wrestling/Paige at her tryout. Her ring name on the indies was actually Britani Knight, and she wasn't renamed Paige until after she had been in WWE for a few months (as is usual with new signees). The Paige character was also originally conceived as a Lisbeth Salander Expy, with the NotLikeOtherGirls aspects not surfacing until she formed a tag team called 'The Anti-Diva Army' with Sofia Cortez.

* The movie glosses over the success Paige had in NXT, as she had actually rose to become champion, and instead focuses more on that level being a bonding experience with the other girls. As a result when she has her big break in WWE it comes across as a complete nobody walking into the ring, rather than the second-stringer confronting the Title Holder it actually was.
** The movie also plays that the crowd -- and Wrestling/AJLee herself -- had no idea who Paige was. In real life, the crowd (the typically slightly "smarky" post-Wrestlemania crowd) knew exactly who she was and cheered accordingly, and AJ's first question to her when she got in the ring was not "Who are you?" but rather "What are you doing here?" The real life match also received a measure of infamy for Paige's "Paige Turner" finisher noticeably not connecting properly, but in the film it is executed perfectly.

* The
film shuffles around a real event to much later in the timeline - Saraya giving herself a makeover to fit the 'Diva Look'. The real girl actually did that for her tryout - claiming she tanned and lightened her hair - and wasn't signed. She was however signed at her second tryout, where she went in dark-haired.

** The match also has two additions, Paige freezing in stage fright before the TrashTalk, and her delivering a speech upon victory.

Not So Different has been renamed, and it needs to be dewicked/moved

** During her debut match, Paige is wearing all black whereas AJ has an all red outfit. In the real event, Paige was wearing purple with black accents while AJ was wearing a black top with print, black and pink jean shorts, and black footwear with white and pink accents. The real Paige has gone on record saying she hated that purple gear as it was Wrestling/VinceMcMahon who insisted she wear that, so the film uses one that is similar to her actual wrestling gear. In AJ's case, this was done to visually contrast her and Paige as the real AJ also had an overall "edgy" look that was NotSoDifferent from Paige

Woman In White renamed and redefined by TRS and is being dewicked. Not enough context to move to applicable trope.

** Wrestling/AJLee is depicted as a WomanInWhite during Wrestling/WrestleMania XXX. In the actual event she was wearing a black top with print, red jean shorts, and black footwear with white accents.

* The Rock had very little to do with WWE during the timeline of the story, Saraya and Zak did not come across him in London and he had just returned about the same time Paige made her debut.
* The film shuffles around a real event to much later in the timeline - Saraya giving herself a makeover to fit the 'Diva Look'. The real girl actually did that for her tryout - claiming she tanned and lightened her hair - and wasn't signed. She was however signed at her second tryout, where she went in dark-haired.
* Saraya is seen creating a cardboard replica of the Diva's Championship as a child/pre-teen. The Diva's Championship was created in July 2008, a month shy of the real Saraya's sixteenth birthday.
* Pete Dunne is donning his hairstyle from 2017 onwards while on a 2011 tryout.
* The film depicts Roy Knight as being imprisoned. While he was really incarcerated, it happened years before the film's timeline. In fact he was featured in the documentary the film is based on.
* One of Saraya's three main contemporaries is wearing Wrestling/AlexaBliss' original wrestling gear. Bliss' televised in-ring debut in NXT was for the TournamentArc to crown the new NXT Women's Champion after Saraya moved to the main roster. Likewise, the remaining two contemporaries are wearing Wrestling/KellyKelly and Wrestling/EveTorres' wrestling gears despite the two never being members of NXT, not to mention retired by the time NXT fully became a developmental brand.

* The Raw and SmackDown logos are of the ones from 2016, despite Paige's iconic Raw debut happening in 2014 and the visit to [=SmackDown=] supposedly happening in 2011. WWE's post-2014 logo also appears in scenes set well before that year, the most egregious instance being the prologue set in the early 2000s (when the company was known as the WWF; the settlement with the World Wide Fund for Nature prohibits any use of the logos affiliated that name on any new WWE-associated footage).
* Wrestling/Sheamus is donning his mohawk from 2015 onwards. He should still be sporting his AnimeHair as his appearance in the film is during early 2014.
* Wrestling/TheMiz is wearing his merchandise from 2016 during [=WrestleMania=] XXX, which was held in 2014.
* The beginning and ending of Paige's WWE debut match played differently. Here she was initially stricken with stage fright and after her victory makes a PatrickStewartSpeech and then celebrates in the middle of the ring. In the actual event Paige was able to say her lines, and immediately after winning celebrates outside of the ring while having TearsOfJoy. Also AJ's enforcer, Wrestling/TaminaSnuka, is AdaptedOut.
* Paige and AJ's respective wrestling gear:
** Wrestling/AJLee is depicted as a WomanInWhite during Wrestling/WrestleMania XXX. In the actual event she was wearing a black top with print, red jean shorts, and black footwear with white accents.

* The prologue has Saraya and Zak as children fighting over watching Wrestling/KingOfTheRing 2000 or an episode of Series/Charmed1998. Wrestling/KingOfTheRing 2000 happened on June 25, 2000 (implying that is the date when the prologue scene happens) when Charmed was on the summer break between its second and third seasons. This would imply that the episode of Charmed was a rerun, but the clip shown is from an episode that originally aired during the show's fifth season on September 29, 2002.
* And of course the biggest Mind Screwy one - the film is based on a documentary. So at a lot of the events the film depicts, there was a camera crew following the Knights around.
