** When trapped in a fantasy world trying to rescue Kazuya and Kiriha, Mimane, Shinobu, Kyouka, and Sosogu are enslaved by Dabada, who forces them to have sex with each other to please her patrons. While Shinobu reluctantly has sex with Kyouka, Mimane is all too eager to assault Sosogu.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale:
** Kiriha is a LovableSexManiac who frequently molests Kazuya, ignoring his protests.
** In a side chapter, Kazuya is [[spoiler:body-swapped with Kyouka, who is immediately overcome by libido and tries to rape him with the rationalization that she can do whatever she wants to her body, ignoring Kazuya's protests. When he reverses the body-swap, she's amazed by his level of self-control.]]
** Arumi -- jealous over seeing how well Akito is getting along with his new wielder -- sends Mimane off to scan Akito's appearance so that she can use her as a sex-toy to vent her frustrations. The real Akito walks into the room, and Arumi pounces on him, forcibly strips him naked, and is horrified when Mimane walks in saying she couldn't find Akito anywhere.

* EverybodyHasLotsOfSex: By later chapters, the main characters have touched each other sexually at least once, heavy petting and offscreen sex helps boost spiritual energy, and we even run into a spiritual society that includes open sexuality as a lifestyle practice. The only thing keeping it from being outright porn is the contrivance of the underage characters doing just about everything but penetration, and even that is framed as a SuspiciouslySpecificDenial.

* FreakyFridayFlip: In one of the bonus chapters, [[spoiler:Kazuya and Kyouka wake up with swapped bodies and she immediately tries to rape him, but he fights her off and undoes the swap by headbutting her]].

* GenderBender:
** Madarai is [[spoiler:reincarnated as a little girl and left in the care of [[ComedicLolicon Taguri Kanayama]] as punishment for he did to the Mayoiga tsukumogami -- though she maintains she was a WellIntentionedExtremist]].
** The cast is genderbent when they go inside a dream to defeat an amasogi. Kazuya [[ScrewYourself falls for his female version]].

* HalfHumanHybrid: Ouna Oriobana is a human-tsukumogami hybrid.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Madarai ended up overusing the power of the Puppet Bindings which, while make him more powerful, he can't use any of their abilities at the same time, nor at full power. And the overuse ends up mutating him into a monstrosity]].

** Kiriha is introduced as a brash, lewd, obnoxious brat of a girl, though she ''does'' display the occasional moments of tenderness. [[spoiler:She used to be prim and proper until Kanaka acquired her.]]

* InstantExpert: Downplayed version with Kazuya and Kyouka, the flute Tsukumogami. Kazuya doesn't know how to play the flute but as long as he provided Kyouka with enough power she can guide him into playing the right notes for her abilities.
* IntimateHealing: In order to restore the Mayoiga Tsukumogamis' power, Kazuya is forced to strip naked and rub his body against theirs. [[spoiler:Kyouka exploits this a few times when she really doesn't need to healed.]]

* MercyKill: The official record is that [[spoiler:Madarai]] chose exile after being defeated but it's ''very'' strongly implied that this is what happened given [[BodyHorror what happened after]] his fight with Kazuya.

* OnceAnEpisode: Someone getting stripped naked and getting groped. The author admits he ''really'' loves adding gratuitous fanservice in somewhere in the story in some fashion.

* {{Polyamory}}:
** Hinted multiple times to be an acceptable resolution to Kazuya's UnwantedHarem.
** His mother Kanaka once had a three-way lesbian relationship with Kiriha and Kukuri, [[SubvertedTrope which left them both disappointed]] when she married Kazuya's father instead.
* PornWithPlot: As a borderline hentai manga, ''Tsugumomo'' contains a lot of gratuitous sexual content intended as comedy, including some of the non-consentual kind. The author even admits he tries to have at least one naked female character per chapter, and his goal is to show all the female characters naked at least once.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Mimane is able to assume a person's appearance, which Arumi and Kyouka exploit to have sexy-time with Akito and Kazuya respectively [[CantSpitItOut without having to confess their feelings]] -- though both are adamant about saving their virginity for the real deal. This backfires on Arumi when the real Akito walks into the room and she pounces on him and uses him as a sex toy.
* PoweredByAForsakenChild: Madarai cheats in the TournamentArc by [[spoiler:drugging and raping Ouna Oriobana to get her to reveal the location of the Maiyoiga tsukumogami, which he seals inside illegal puppet bands that enslave them and drain their lifeforce]].
* RapeAsComedy: The overwhelming majority of the manga's non-consensual sexual content is played for laughs or fanservice.
** Even as a child, Kanaka had a twisted idea of what skinship was, and frequently forced herself onto Kiriha and Kukuri.
** In one of his own dreams, Kazuya (in [[GenderBender girl form]]) is raped by a perverse male version of himself, leaving him traumatized. It's played for laughs and fanservice.
** In the TournamentArc, Madarai uses an incense burner tsukumogami to drug and rape Ouna Oriobana twice, [[spoiler:getting her to spill the location of the Maiyoiga tsukumogami and later on the strategy of the pro-Tsukumogami team]].
** When Kazuya is [[spoiler:body-swapped with Kyouka, she takes a moment to admire how beautiful she is and then is overwhelmed by his enormous libido and tries to rape him, rationalizing that she can do whatever she wants to her own body]].
* {{Retraux}}: Intentionally or not, the visual style of the manga is made in the traditions of the comedic works of the 90's, which further gives it the atmosphere of the old harem series.
* RunningGag: Kazuya regularly becomes a victim of embarrassing situations, because of which Osama increasingly suspects him of having a creepy pedophile inclinations. The fact that Kiriha and Kukuri appear prepubescent for the first half of the series doesn't help his case.
* ScrewYourself:
** When Kiriha, Kokuri, Kokuyou and Bakura enter one of Kazuya's dreams, Dream Kazuya doesn't find them appealing. Their solution is to bring in the real Kazuya into the dream [[GenderBender as a girl]], and Dream Kazuya is excited beyond measure and forces himself on her, with the experience traumatizing the real Kazuya.
** Ouna Oriobana's child-sized manifestation is not opposed to having sex with her adult alternate self, and sexually punishes her for letting her guard down around Madarai.

* SecretlyGayActivity:
** In the backstory, Kanaka Kagami was able to pull both Kiriha and Kukuri into a three-way lesbian relationship by disguising her activities as "skinship", as well as the standard training and bonding that a tsugumomo must do with their master. Eventually, all pretext ended in private and the three of them were in a very sexual lesbian relationship.
** In the present, PsychoLesbian and ComedicLolicon Taguri Kanayama disguises her sexual activities with Kiriha and Kukuri as being part of a game of chance. Even when the stakes of the game involve things like licking, kissing or dressing in sexy outfits, she pretends that it's just harmless fun for the three girls. At one point, Kiriha even tries to help Kukuri and Kaguya cheat by claiming to Taguri that she needed help going to the bathroom--an offer to which Taguri immediately jumps up and ''drags'' Kiriha to the bathroom to "help her" with. (It ends up backfiring anyway, since Taguri had already set up backup rules to the game that stated no one was allowed to change the board or cards except herself.)

* SkinshipGrope: Kazuya's mother Kanaka [[DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnFemale used this as an excuse to rape Kiriha]] when they were paired together, and Kiriha in-turn used this as an excuse for her and Kasumi to rape Kukuri.

** Kiriha starts off looking like a teenager, but after fighting Kukuri she expends so much power that she reverts to a prepubescent form. This doesn't stop her from molesting Kazuya and Kukuri, and she starts developing as she regains her power. [[spoiler:When Kanaka was her master she looked like an adult, but de-aged to her teenage form -- much to Kukuri's amusement -- when Kazuya became her master.]]
** Due to [[spoiler:expending so much of her power maintaining the protective barrier around the town]] while [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly not receiving the requisite worship]] to maintain her powers, Kukuri relies on magic masks to maintain her adult form. When they're removed she reverts to a childlike form even younger-looking than Kiriha's, though as with Kiriha this doesn't preclude her from the manga's borderline ''hentai'' shenanigans.
** Ouna Oriobana can manifest a child-sized version of herself, who is sterner and lewder than her, and [[spoiler:doesn't hesitate to sexually punish and assault her other self for revealing the pro-Tsukumogami team's plans to Madarai]].
* SuperMode:
** Ascension mode involves fusing with one's Tsukumogami, gaining an enormous boost in power signified by MysticalWhiteHair and a mark appearing on the user's forehead.
** There is a second, darker version called ''Domination'' where the medium forcefully draws power out of the Tuskumogami rather than the normal WillingChanneler mechanic. Where normal Acension puts an extreme strain on the body of the exorcist, Domination puts an extreme strain on the true form of the Tsukumogami.

* TournamentArc: One pops up not long after [[spoiler: Kanaka reveals herself and Kazuya's sister traps her to buy him some time]] due to the splinter fraction of Tsuzura Temple trying to pull a coup and enslave the tsukumogami. Rather then go into all out war, it's agreed the two side will do one on one combat to decide who will run things.

** Though she vehemently tries to deny it, Oriobana can tell that Kyouka is slowly falling for Kazuya.

* UnwantedHarem: Kazuya has to put up with majority of the girls molesting, perving out, and falling in love with him, more or less unwillingly. The ability to share Kazuya is hinted at multiple times by the girls, especially since some of them are bisexual. Their main point of contention mostly seems to be who will be the first to "deflower" him and share other intimate "firsts" with him. But beyond that, there's little attempt to hoard him for themselves.

* WhamEpisode:
** Chapter 70. As if the events of the previous several chapters weren't major enough, chapter 70 hits the reader real hard as [[spoiler:Kukuri and Kiriha are both swiftly killed by Kanaka]]. Also, [[spoiler: Kazuya's sister is revealed to be an exorcist in her own right, with her own tsukumogami sidekick]].
** We find out later that [[spoiler:Kazuya created Azami which from experimenting trying to make a tsukumogmai with curse power. Setting up a chain of events that lead to his mother being killed and taken over by her. Meaning they've been virtually fighting against a being of his own creation.]]
