* Retcon: As an animated work, Narratives portrayal of the Phenex's behavior and the prototype Nu Gundam causes this film to retcon the previously-canon interquel manga Last Sun (which portrays the Phenex as legitimately out for blood, ) and (possibly)Federation prototypes are infamous for branching a lot as their designers dig into new plans and technologies, so there's a non-zero chance that both units could still co-exist in the greater continuity any work that uses the Mu Gundam (the previous MS said to be the Nu's prototype in lore.)

the titular Narrative Gundam. On it's own, it is very much the FlawedPrototype to the Nu Gundam. It normally lacks sufficient armor and weapons, but can be armed with a variety of equipment sets to suit the situation and fight on par with current generation mobile suits.suits.
** Second, the feature Unicorn 03 "Phenex". While its data and specs are part of the same project that produced the original Unicorn and the Unicorn Banshee, its own development occurred under schismatic elements of the Earth Federation, who sought to disentangle such powerful weapons from the control of the Vist Foundation. In practice, the Phenex therefore becomes a Foreshadowing forerunner for specifically Federation-owned MS development in the leadup to F91.

* CallForward: The Narrative's status as a loan-out from Luio and Co. surprised the Phoenix Hunting pilots, incredulous that a trading company has access to such technology. It was later explained that Anaheim and Luio have struck up a deal. Taking into account Anaheim's near-monopoly on MS technology (at least since Stardust Memory and Zeta up to Unicorn), this most likely suggests the eventual bleed-out of personnel and technology from Anaheim, eventually leading to the rise of the SNRI in F91.

The recycled in space trope can only be used if it's a whole plot reference and the original plot it's supposedly copying needs to be blatant in the marketing, neither of which happen in Gundam Narrative. There's also a reason Mineva is still respected by Bakarov on a surface level, but he has to try and pretend he knows nothing about the events of the film. Zoltan's lines also directly mirror Char's at the end of Char's Counterattack. When you get to the finer points, Zoltan only resembles Angelo on a superficial level. Zoltan legitimately wants to make use of the Phenex whereas Angelo only tolerated the Unicorn at best and did try to destroy it when he had the chance. Mental stability is a point of contention, since Angelo was mostly painted as quick to anger. And because this is only referring to one character, expy needs to be moved to the character page.

* TheDarkSideWillMakeYouForget: Much of Jona's resentment against Michele is implied to come from his belief that whatever good intentions Michele had in separating the three of them was lost to time. * Expy: Zoltan Akkanen is nominally a "failed" prototype of the man who would eventually become Full Frontal. Looking at his hairstyle, sense of entitlement, mental instability and even speech patterns, however, he actually shares a whole lot more with Frontal's understudy, Angelo Sauper--right down to his near-homicidal hatred/jealousy of anything/anyone that has to do with the Unicorn Gundam (and by extension, the Narrative).

The explosion by itself wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that it would cause three colony drops. They explain it in the film proper.

** In the climax, the threat posed by the II Neo Zeong dropping forcing several giant storage tanks of thousand helium gas on Earth containers to explode--keep in mind that the energy released in nuclear reactions grows exponentially with how much mass is explicitly said to be greater than any involved--would destroy at least three colonies in the blast radius and all previous their debris would rain onto earth. With earlier colony drops, the initial impact was relatively localized because the colonies stayed intact until impact, with Sydney's in particular being devastating because the resulting explosion caused a short-term nuclear winter. Michele doesn't resent the other two for not being grateful. Her actions in the present are to make up for her past mistake. She's more resentful of Rita taking up Jona's attention long after they were all initially separated.
