In March 2017, it was announced a new film trilogy based on the original series titled ''Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution'' will be released in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Similar to ''Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion'', the films will re-tell the story of the anime while adding new material, such as showing The Summer of Love onscreen for the first time, the subject of the first film. The second of these films goes into yet another divergent universe and centers around Anemone, who is the heroine of the story, which has an even closer inspiration drawn from ''Evangelion''.

** Elder Furthark runes have subtly been used in character design. In Holland and Talho's case, this doubles as TattooAsCharacterType.
*** The Sacrificial Kings in the Novak family, including Holland, have a tattoo on their upper left arm that resembles the ᛗ (mannaz) rune meaning "man". However, a reversed mannaz represents resistance to change and is a reminder to be aware of one's faults and responsibilities. This reflects Holland's immature and abusive behavior towards Renton being chosen as Eureka's partner, as well as his unwillingness to face his past, before he realizes his mistakes and tries to become a better leader to Gekkostate.
*** Talho has copied Holland and has a reversed ᛒ (berkana) rune on her upper right arm. The rune which means "birch tree" symbolizes motherhood, domesticity, and new beginnings when upright; but the reversed berkana symbolizes domestic troubles--in this case, Talho's [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]] towards Holland [[spoiler:[[TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest still being heartbroken by Diane]]]] and overprotecting Eureka.
