He aims to capture [[LovelyAngels Nadie and Ellis]] to complete this project and [[spoiler:seek revenge on the higher government for driving his father to suicide, and manipulates the Witch Coven, a competing sub-faction, for this purpose]].
*** In the manga, Rosenberg is AdaptedOut, so the antagonist role goes to [[spoiler:Alice, a “sister” Witch of Ellis who is DrivenByEnvy to steal her powers and get revenge on Project Leviathan for abandoning her]].

* DoingInTheWizard: Inverted. [[spoiler:Ellis is the product of genetic engineering, but her powers seem to be genuinely supernatural.]]

* DoubleEntendre: Having very sexy girls and women in order to sell tacos.

* GoryDiscretionShot[=/=]TakeOurWordForIt: L.A. gets mocked by some bar patrons in episode 7. He makes a SlasherSmile, and then the scene cuts to some minutes later, with the police at the scene trying to radio in "someone good with puzzles" so they can find out how many victims there were.

** Ellis whenever she unconsciously manifests her powers. [[spoiler:Her eyes still change even after she gains full control of her powers]].

* {{Hypocrisy}}: In the hotel room when Ellis wants to throw herself on the bed, Nadie tries to hold her back, reasoning they are too dirty and should take a bath first so they won't dirty the bedcloth. Ther would be much more weight to Nadie's words, if before saying that, she actually ''didn't'' throw herself on the bed too. Not like Ellis actually listened to her argument. Or any arguments whatsoever.

* SmashCut: Used in episode 21, to make the audience think L.A. has murdered a young flower girl. The next scene shows that [[spoiler: she's just fine, and was happy that he bought all her flowers]].

%%* BareYourMidriff: Nadie.

* FingerSuckHealing: In thir episode, Ellis cuts her finger while opening a can. Nadie first chews her out for this, then applies the standard finger-sucking procedure despite having access to running and hopefully lean water.

* GenericCuteness: Nadie is apparently mildly unattractive, or at least very plain judging by the reactions she gets from most men. Even the [[ReallyGetsAround playboy mariachi]] only flirted with her to get money. The way she's drawn, though, the worst you could say about her is that she's a bit skinny for an Amazon.

* GoingCommando: When Nadie mentions showering to Ellis, she casually slips off both her sleeveless jacket and dress with a single move and stands before Nadie buck naked. Unless she didn't also somehow take off her panties in the process it strongly implies she's not waering any. Perpetually.

First is a same gendered pairing, the second is a pure example.
