From YKTTW

Janitor: Looking at the history of the article, it looks like two examples were cut without any discussion. Andyzero saying ...

  • Madlax did this as some kind of bizarre magic ritual for a Nietzsche Wannabe.
  • Montana Max from the Hellsing manga and OVA openly admits he just likes war for the hell of it.
.... and Yoshi348 overstriking it with something about Advance Wars. Was this intentional?

Yoshi348: Whoops, it wasn't. I don't know how that happened. Also I should site search my name more often.

Morgan Wick: The locking system really needs to be made more robust, there are too many drops.

Medinoc: I'd like to add Iraq as a real life example, but that would probably start a troll of epic levels. Also, we had our own interests in being against the war.

Ununnilium: Yeeeeeeeah.

Medinoc: Well, seems that I misread. This trope seems to be about a third party starting a war. I'll add the Highlander example in compensation.

Charred Knight: Would a spoof from the Daily Show about Blackwater count? "Blackwater we kill...for money"

Nlpnt A lot of the fictional examples from the last couple years take some pretty Anvilicious inspiration from it. And I'm finding the John Mc Cain ads massively ironic...

Charred Knight: I changed the entry about Super Robot Wars to emphasize the fact that technology increasing was also a major part about why the tried to create endless conflict.
Radical Taoist: I'm thinking we should make some note to the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism here. And I really want to link this article without trolling; military conflict is a bigger source of profit than a lot of people think.

Erica MZDM: Edited the WW 1 example to remove the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism comment. I don't have any objection to the reference in general, but attaching it to that(or any other) particular example comes off as some kind of "If the US was doing it, it wasn't really bad" excuse.
