How Week 7 will go
Week 7 is going to have The Boyfriend, in his Idiot Hero fashion, either sneak into the Tankmen's military complex in the hopes they'll train him, or that he can steal some weapons for when the rap battles don't work out. "Ugh" will be Tankman roasting the Boyfriend on his physical stature, and will probably have lyrics referencing Tankman's unique Game Over lines or lines from the Tankmen series.note In the cutscene before "Guns", Girlfriend will begin to display Tranquil Fury upon being insulted by Tankman, and in "Stress", Pico and The Boyfriend will give a Call-Back to Week 3 by repeating their exchange about Pico "saving their bacon". The Girlfriend will also have a singing role in "Stress" as well, due to her being by The Boyfriend's side throughout the whole song.
- Somewhat confirmed with Ugh, Jossed with Guns but during the song; the Girlfriend's Tranquil Fury only shows before Pico's intervention, and outright confirmed with Pico's appearance and Stress.
When Mid-Fight Masses is covered, Sarvente's reason for challenging The Boyfriend will be to "save" him from his demonic girlfriend.
Which would be a bit of Hypocritical Humor considering Sarvente's transformation during "Gospel."
- Confirmed!
The Greater-Scope Villain of this continuity is the doomsday cult responsible for Whitty's creation.
Updike is another Greater-Scope Villain who wants to find Whitty and destroy him before he can cause any harm.
Skin mods will get covers of original songs (if original) or songs from their source material (if existing)
It would be funny if ENA decided to show up as well, knowing how wacky her world is.
The Spooky Month canon ("main" canon to Skid and Pump) coexists with this series.
Skid and Pump mentioned the Eyes after all.
If RecD ever does the Tricky mod, Boyfriend will mention Hex.
Maybe Boyfriend will be mad at Tricky for scaring Hex so badly. Alternatively, maybe he'll realize that if someone as friendly, kind, and understanding as Hex wants nothing to do with this clown, Boyfriend and Girlfriend should probably be scared, too...
Friday Night Funkin': Corruption will be a Halloween special, and will be portrayed as a nightmare in the Boyfriend's head.
Probably Jossed as of now, considering Phantom Fear's current stance on lyric videos. But who knows? Maybe when the mod is finished they'll cover it? Hopefully.
Jossed. RecD’s Discord confirmed that he will not do mods that consist of primarily remixes. This includes Neo, B-Sides, and this mod. While on the subject, he will also not cover Brightside, Beach Brother, or Bob and Bosip due to their creators being controversial.
"High" will be covered at some point, but not with Mommy Mearest.
Instead it will be covered by Ayana, from the Ex-Girlfriend Mod where she takes the place of Mommy Mearest while also having her own original song, "Something Spiteful".
Jossed. "High" will be covered in the remastered version of Week 4 With Lyrics.
Tabi's week's lyrics will call back to Whitty with the lyrics acting as a sort of Dark Reprise, and will paint Tabi as more of a Jerkass Woobie with a heavy emphasis on "jerkass."
Considering the song "Genocide" contains hints of "Ballistic" in it, it would be perfect to include a spin on some of its lyrics, and it'll probably call back to Tabi's extended canon (i.e. how he and the Girlfriend used to have a cat they raised together).
- Bonus points if Boyfriend reprises "We can fix it, we can fix you, shouldn't risk it, but I still want to."
Carol's week will receive a special cameo from Updike, the new Superboss of Whitty's week.
Whitty will be involved in Carol's own slice of her story, and with Updike knowing of Whitty's whereabouts thanks to hacking Hex, it could prompt him to steal and kidnap The Girlfriend and The Boyfriend, resulting in "Remorse".
Unfortunately Jossed, as Carol’s week has been deconfirmed due to her songs being based on copyrighted music. However, Updike and his song “Remorse” still has a chance. Possibly being its own video, or making a surprise appearance in a video relating to Whitty’s story arc.
- Confirmed with the surprise appearance in the "Carol x Whitty Date Week" video.
Garcello’s week will have a premise similar to Whitty. Girlfriend will remind Boyfriend what happened the last time they went into an alley.
Garcello will also reveal a backstory. Likely a tragic one involving Daddy Dearest in some way. Annie could be involved in his story since the creator of the two made them friends.
- Confirmed with the tragic backstory and the involvement of Annie, but jossed with the premise similar to Whitty.
If Annie's week gets covered, it will be a follow-up to Smoke 'Em Out Struggle With Lyrics.
Not only will "Lover", "Tug of War", and "Animal" get their own lyrics, but "Good Enough" could have some of its lyrics revised for the week. Annie will also reveal a backstory on how she got addicted to the Liquid and reveal some more details about her relationship with Garcello.
If VS Flippy gets covered, Boyfriend will try to help Flippy get back to normal.
- The only song RecD won't cover is "Flippin Out" due to its status as an extremely fast Nintendo Hard level. They will cover the rest of the album (or at least "Happy Tree Land", "Massacre", and "UnFlipped Out"). In addition, the song's lyrics will reference Flippy's home series, Happy Tree Friends, as well as his backstory revealed in "Operation: Tiger Bomb".
- An idea based off of this: after "Massacre", Girlfriend calls Flippy out on how much he's overreacting. Flippy bruises her via giving her a Dope Slap and it looks like he's going to kill her and Boyfriend… only for Girlfriend to use her demon powers to completely floor him, causing Flippy to come back to his senses and thus begin "UnFlipped Out".
- Jossed. RecD’s Discord confirmed that any mod containing songs that are faster than “Ballistic” (eg. Matt, and this mod) will not be covered.
- That joss might've gotten jossed itself, considering how Run was covered. (Granted, that was just an April Fools Joke, but it's still possible.)
If Friday Night Shootin' gets covered, it'll be told through Flashback.
One random day, Girlfriend brings up that Boyfriend and Pico used to date, and ask how that was like. Cue Boyfriend reminiscing about just that.
If The Date Week is covered, it will be the final song cover of Friday Night Funkin RecD makes.
With The Greater Good defeated, Whitty and Carol are able to go on a peaceful date together where Whitty can finally mellow out, become more socially active, and will even reconcile his friendship with the Dearests. He will even propose a marriage to her at the end of the date.
Jossed. RecD just announced The Date Week as an upcoming cover. And the series is definitely far from over. Confirmed with Whitty finally mellowing out and reconciling with the Dearests, but unfortunately Jossed with the marriage proposal.
Similar to what happened with Brightside and Beach Brother, VS AGOTI will not be covered due to controversy surrounding the mod creator.
However, AGOTI is getting replaced by Aldryx Andromeda in the upcoming Entity mod. If Aldryx sings the same songs, then they can still be covered.
- It’s not the creator of the mod that caused controversy, it’s the creator of the character. But now the mod creator has rights to AGOTI, and Aldryx is now his brother. So this very well may be Jossed.
Selever will be Adapted Out of the Mid-Fight Masses episode.
- Even if his existence wasn’t an April Fools joke, he’s just too crude for the series’s tone.
- By that standpoint, they wouldn’t be able to do Tricky either because he’s also that crude. They could simply edit the sprites.
- If they do reference him, it will only be a offhand reference or a cameo like Carol or Annie.
- Confirmed.
- However, Selever eventually did get an episode of his own with a cover of "Casanova", but his sprites were edited so it wouldn't look like he was flipping Boyfriend off.
"Philly Nice" and "High" will get covered in remasters of their respective weeks.
"Bopeebo", "Fresh", and even the tutorial song got their own covers in the remaster of Week 1 despite being Adapted Out in the original version. It's possible the same will happen with Weeks 3 and 4.
- And "Encore" from "Hextravaganza" too.
- It's been confirmed that Weeks 3 and 4 will get remasters with "Philly Nice" and "High".
Girlfriend is manipulating, or at least hiding something from, Boyfriend.
Truth be told, this theory's been in floating around since Week 6, but with Mid-Fight Masses out, this troper think this needs to be said. See, Girlfriend acts... really suspicious during both epilogues, with Girlfriend utilizing herself in order to get Boyfriend to stop asking questions. Week 6 ends off with Boyfriend, confused about the whole ordeal with Spirit, trying to ask Girlfriend a few questions before she cuts him off, mostly being played off as a joke. Mid-Fight, on the other hand, is much more direct, with Boyfriend directly asking if she's going to take his soul for herself. The text box even reads "Uncomfortable Silence," before she kisses him, dropping the subject entirely. What she has planned, only time will tell.- Bonus points if this ends up being foreshadowing to Tabi.
- That actually reminds me of Juno's Songs' Lyrics for Genocide, where Tabi berates Boyfriend for being with Girlfriend due to her callousness.
- "Turn Back Now or pay the price, behind that smile is heart of ice"
- That actually reminds me of Juno's Songs' Lyrics for Genocide, where Tabi berates Boyfriend for being with Girlfriend due to her callousness.
If Friday Night Funkin' Minus was ever covered then it'd be for Garcello's Minus from Hazy River
Boyfriend would be having a sudden relapse about the death of Garcello, creating a story of The Boyfriend (in his appearance in Hazy River) meeting Minus Garcello. The ending moment of Minus Garcello becoming a dragon would lead to Boyfriend's full-on denial of Garcello's death, until being picked up by Girlfriend to completely accept it.
Guesses for Season 2 or future seasons.

The Vs Sonic.exe collaboration on Mugimikey's channel will not be a part of the main FNF with lyrics canon, and will rather be its own thing.
I don't see how it could fit into the canon lore. And with this being on a different channel altogether, it could very well be the case. We might even have to create a separate trope page for it seeing as this will be spread across multiple videos.
- If I remember correctly, RecD has confirmed that it is canon and takes place between seasons 1 and 2, but won’t have any real connection to the rest of the series. It could be considered the series’ Giant Space Flea from Nowhere.
