The Northern Empire
Ruler: Senator Lucon Osticos
Capital: Argoron
An oligarchic group of the powerful landowners and entrenched aristocracy, the Northern Empire believes that only strict adherence to Imperial Law can prevent the rise of tyranny in the Empire, and that the most qualified should lead- those being the aforementioned powerful landowners and entrenched aristocracy who sit in what Lucon believes should be supreme- the Senate.

- Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite nominally being the faction that is most depenent on Senate politics, this does not actually manifest in gameplay as of now.note
- Good Old Ways: They are the faction that adheres the most to the Empire's old traditions.
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: The Empire's "not-a-monarchy" insistence detailed on the main page is most blatant with the Northern Empire due to its claim to being the most traditional of the factions - at least Garios' supporters are open about it being the best military commander and Rhagaea's supporters are willing to embrace the fact.

Lucon
Senator Lucon
"We're of a very old family that has done great service to the Empire. But I'll tell you something — a man, whatever his bloodline, is only as good as his honor and his obedience to the law."
Chosen by the Senate to be the next emperor and the leader of the Osticos clan, Lucon's power lies in the support of the Senate and is the most traditional of the three emperors.- Elective Monarchy: Firm supporter of the de jure belief that the Calradic Empire is not a monarchy, no matter what de facto practices exist.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: As is normal in Calradia, both fighting the wars and actively governing. Despite the fact that one of the Empire's best generals and the widow of a beloved Emperor was able to rally large chunks of the Empire into overturning the old ways, Lucon managed to hold onto a third of the Empire and defends it against attack from within and without.
- Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: According to Istanianote , Lucon has the best grasp of the Empire's traditions of the three candidates and is by far the most adherent to those ancient traditions.
Neretzes
In General
The Neretzes family bears the name and the shame of the folly that led to Arenicos' rise to power. Despite discontent, they remained loyal to Arenicos even as they remain firm traditionalists and disagreed with many of his choices. With Arenicos' untimely demise, they chose to side with the Senate and in turn Lucon in the current civil war.
Penton
Penton
Son of that Neretzes, Penton remains bitter about the whole Folly. He recognizes his father was a fool, but feels that Arenicos was able to claim being Emperor more by being one of the first to escape the debacle and take advantage of setting the tone to secure his own nomination as Emperor. While he may have ambitions to the throne, eventually, for now he remains loyal to Lucon and the Senate's claim.—-- The Resenter: Towards Arenicos, as detailed above.
