There are six (later eight) kingdoms that are major factions and the powers of Calradia in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Each kingdom is made up of several clans and have their own fiefs (towns, castles and villages) and have several tiers of troops. Most of them are the ancestors and predecessors to the kingdoms in Mount & Blade: Warband.
