My synopsis doesn't do it justice. The writing style is gorgeous, the characters are well fleshed out no matter how short the appearance (unless they're unnamed, of course), and it just kept me from beginning to end— I don't even like this genre most of the time (started 'cause I liked the title, kept reading 'cause I fell in love), and it still managed to hook me. Sadik and Gupta develop so wonderfully and slowly, and just... Al-Huriya is an oasis in the barren, fetid wasteland of Fanfiction.net. Let it be known.
