You know what, I'm not even going to try to tactful or even handed here. This show is cretinous. I don't care what age, gender, or nationality you are there is no reason to watch it. I even gave it about 2 hours (5 brain stewing episodes) of my life since I liked the original. After all the first one was a slow starter too, but eventually it had its fill of fanservice and filler and actually got on with a decent plot. Kiddy Girl on the other hand is fiercely dedicated to its own irrelevance. It spends most of its time with agonizingly pointless plots (infiltrate the base to get pudding!) and lame self referential anime jokes. Although the show ostensibly exists within the Kiddy Grade continuity they made a point to blow up the characters you know and love in the first five minutes and never look back. Don't expect anything more than a passing nod to previous themes, arc, or characters. And that brings us to the characters. I have never wanted to inflict bodily harm on a fictional character as much as I do to Ascoeur. She is the worst amalgamation of Japanese stereotypes I've ever seen and the only kind of character development that could improve her is the kind where she gets fired into the sun. I can appreciate a silly show on its own terms but this thing doesn't even know which lowest common denominator its trying to to pander to. If you liked Kiddy Grade but thought it was burdened by things like a plot, decent writing, and characters you didn't want to strangle with piano wire then you will love Kiddy Girl. All others should avoid it like the animated plague it is.
