The story's plot is engaging, and the pacing is perfect, but what really got me hooked was how amazingly well-written the Shadowbolts are. A Dark Sky makes excellent use of having the characters and their backgrounds drive the story onward. Its (in-progress) sequal, The Storm, has shown promise of being every bit as good as its predecessor, and I would love to see it completed.
