Avenging 10 is a story inspired by the works of Ultimate 10 and The Incredible Muffin’s own popular Ben 10 crossover fics, as the author takes the same basis of the latter’s story, the author however does try to expand on EMH through adding original arcs to this fanfic that can be pretty decent. Unfortunately, those moments only come sometimes, as this story falls into the category of Ben just an observer to the canon events of these episodes half the time, and while he does help the Avengers and spice things up at times; his inclusion doesn’t really provide many major differences in the overarching story barring the inclusion of new characters and arcs, albeit always centered around solely Ben, when the author should’ve created more original moments with other character's.
While some arcs like introducing X-23 were pretty solid, original arcs like most notably the “Sinister Seven arc" are sadly rushed and certain events feeling very forced. it makes one feel they should’ve devoted writing more original chapters or scenes to commit to much more world-building and character development for the other Marvel characters besides Ben. As it feels it’s stuck between adhering too much to canon and not giving enough time to be more creative and add more meat to the story. Especially with inclusion of Spectacular Spiderman and Wolverine and the X-men elements here, that could’ve used more attention. Plus the author has yet to update and fix the bad grammar and spelling in their first chapters.
But overall it‘s still a mostly decent read and with clear hard work put into making it all work. Especially since they are working with three series' that never finished their storylines and got canceled after one or two seasons. So credit where it’s due here for taking on such a big task. While it is admittedly far from the best Ben 10 crossover fic I’ve read, it is an overall enjoyable story despite its flaws.
