Utter crap

Confusing, nonsensical crap. I stopped watching after the 90 minute mark when I realised I had an hour left and the experience of watching this film was reminding me of sitting through extremely dull school assemblies as a child. Before I gave up, I began wondering how long the credits would be ("A lot of people must have worked on this, maybe 10 or even 15 minutes long then?") as the longer the credits, the less time was technically left in the film. Which should show you how engaged I was by Tenet.

None of the characters have any, y'know, character. Kenneth Branagh's character is such a generic Russian baddie he could be the bad guy in a Call of Duty game. The plot is non-existent. The time inversion effect is clearly aiming for "cool" and ends up at "silly." The dialogue is impossible to hear and the music is so punishingly loud it made me think of those stories about the CIA torturing people with music.

The You Tuber Patrick Willems make a video defending this film where he argued we should ignore the plot and focus on "vibes". What vibes? The vibes of a generic spy film? Of a shitty James Bond rip off?

Nolan has make two absolute classics to my mind, so he is a talented filmmaker but even the best artists get it wrong now and then.
