A wonderfully weird world that exists alongside our own

I'm up to the fifth book in the Harry Potter series, and I'm already finding it interesting that there exists a world that is hidden from ours, and yet is part of our world, that works on magic and fantastical creatures you'd find in myths and fairy tales. Existing in these two worlds is a young boy who survives a magical attack upon himself and his family and is raised by a family of normal beings (called Muggles) who want the boy to grow up to be a normal person, and when they can't, they try to control him in various ways. However, in this other world that he comes to know of through his first year at a school for wizards and witches, he finds himself as a celebrity and a hero of sorts, who comes into his own as a school champion and a wizard in his own right, who deals with the main nemesis who is after total control of this other world. Harry must learn to live between the two worlds that he interacts with as he grows and learns about everything there is to know about the wizarding world and its various rules and laws, both natural and supernatural. I can't wait to find out how it all ends with the main hero as he progresses toward adulthood as a young teen.
