Does it really get a lot of hate? The only positive thing I\'ve heard about the \"game\" is that the \"show\" is pretty good.

Yeah, I was going to say this. All I hear about the show is that basically since Sega didn\'t want anything to do with it, they gave the writers almost total freedom to do whatever they wanted and the result was actually funny, meh at worst.

I\'ve heard of a few people complaing that they made the characters Generic Stupid Cartoon People for the purposes of humor, but even that\'s usually in the context of people complaining about the complainers wanting a different Sonic experience than they got.

Underrated & overhated, hear me out
I think it's really sad all the hate this show gets, I think it's a really funny cartoon.
Sonic Boom is a fantastic Slice of Life comedy with superhero elements, but it's a terrible serious take on Sonic. I think a lot of people's problem with it is that it's NOT a serious take on Sonic, which I think is unfair. You don't get mad at Harry Potter for being a long read, and you don't get mad at Junie B Jones for having too many pictures. That just isn't what those things are.
With that in mind, Sonic Boom is hilarious. The characters are likeable, the stories are funny, and all in all it's a lovingly made show. Don't hate on it for being a comedy, if you want a serious Sonic show there's Sonic Prime for that.
