Every Christian should read this book

If a Christian thinks their religion can't turn to the dark side, they really need to read this book and see what kind of future they're offering if current trends continue on as they have without a check in a Christian's spirit. This is the story of a woman enduring the loss of more than just her reproductive freedom, she also lost her rights as a woman that forces her and all women into rigid color-coded roles just to satisfy the religious men in power. And the men who enforce these gendered roles on women aren't even good models of true men of God — what with the presence of a legalized brothel just to satisfy the desires of men when they can't get it with their wives and force their Handmaids to go through a ritual of conception concocted from their own interpretations of Scripture. Thankfully this woman left behind a story that future generations that found it will put to good use in the restoration of women's rights — at least that's what its ending implies.
