This is a good fic. One of the greatest crossovers I've read. As a Death Note fan and a fanfiction-only fan of MLP, I enjoyed the whole thing.
But... it follows DN's storyline beat for beat for a very long time and is very predictable to a DN fan. The author tries to fix this by borrowing scenes from the Japanese live-action movies, which were well-used and impactful additions to the fic, but to a reader who has watched these films, they can be seen coming from a mile away.
If you are a MLP fan who has no clue what happens in Death Note: check this out. It's twisty, well-written, and compelling. Kira!Twilight is very well-written and incredibly evil. The background show characters are given interesting personality and roles in the story.
If you are a DN fan: you'll likely see this as just 'Death Note but the characters are replaced by MLP characters who do the same things'. If you like the idea of the twisted morality and events of DN playing out in a cute pastel pony world, give it a try anyway.
